@jamiezenichi: And from where does the character come into the genes? Is it from the mix of character of mom and dad? While genes do inherit certain characteristics, the predominance is the environment. Environment can mold and shape the character despite certain pre-existing characters inherited via genes. In lower forms of animals there is no conscious and creative thinking unlike humans. So, the stimulus from the environment we grow up is continuously shaping our personality and character via the subconscious mind.

When it comes to identical twins, the similarities are often profound, as in the case of these two identical twins raised by different adoptive parents. Both are Valedictorians, yet their environments were not as similar as if they were raised by the same parents, household, or environment. Identical twins share the exact DNA.
