DQ and family are uppercaste people who moved into Kammattipadam as shown in the beginning of the movie, in their childhood part. That's why he doesn't look like others and stands out looking like a chocolate boy. That's why DQ's family has a kind of dislike towards others and calls them names and all. They also asks him several times to move out of Kammattipadam to stay with their relatives in their native place. So that he won't grow in bad influence. His sister is not getting married because people of their caste won't be marrying from a family living in Kammattipadam. The only reason they are still staying there is their financial situation. Otherwise they would have moved out the moment parents noticed Dq's character getting too much acquainted with the people around. The lead actress was shown not being allowed to enter the house to visit the injured young DQ (not DQ exactly 😂). She was also scolded for nothing by his mom because his mom thinks he is getting into trouble because he got too acquainted with the 'lowlives' of Kammattipadam.

A few people felt this movie to be cringe primarily because the dialogues of aged part of DQ's characer was poor in both writing and delivery. It felt a bit inorganic and like straight from a novel. Rajeev Ravi has done the same mistake in his other movies also.
