Kamp Staaldraad is infamous in the sporting world. From being thrown into caves naked, being matched up for bare knuckle boxing matches, and wrangling chickens for dinner, Scalla and John have more than a few choice stories about their time there...

No, it was a horrible experience for all concerned. The public condemned what happened there, Straueli resigned, the Boks did badly at the World Cup and the whistleblower on Kamp Staaldraad committed suicide.

Straueli is and always will be the worst coach in South African history. The whole idea of that staaldraad is representative of his dinosaur thinking. And his chosen captain Krige is the worst captain of all time, completely shaming the bok name on the English tour.
@nielrossouw7831
@nielrossouw7831 3 жыл бұрын
I agreed with you right up to the Krige part. Krige was a beast with a shit couch with a shit game plan.
@mikezog1030
@mikezog1030 3 жыл бұрын
@@nielrossouw7831 No. When a leader thinks something is wrong, he should stand up for what is right. But Kriges thinking synched nicely with Straueli's. His comments about "having to take the scrumhalf off the field" tells me everything about his dumb ass thinking. This is not just STUPID because its in an international game, and covered by dozens of cameras. Its a bad idea because it is not portraying the sport we love in an honorable light. If the captain cannot be a guide to sportsmanlike play and be the spine of the team for them to do what is right, then who can? If he didn't "get" that was a dumb idea by that stage, he was DUMBER than Straueli, and wasn't a leader's asshole.
