TSA is my favorite group to support! All conservancy groups are great, but it is so important to protect turtle and tortoise species 🐢 as they are threatened for their meat, shells etc.

I shared your dream of creating habitats for reptiles, especially turtles when I was a young kid. I was freakin' obsessed with turtles and watching them in their natural settings. I was always catching them and setting up cages/terrariums for them. I would day dream all day in elementary school about swimming around with turtles or something, and get in trouble for not paying attention in class. No adults around me ever thought there was potential good in my fascination with reptiles, maybe with some support from them I might have developed that fascination into a career, though I did grow out of the turtle phase. It seemed they(my parents, teachers) were more annoyed by the fact that I was so obsessed and thought I "wanted to BE a turtle", but I liked the science of them, I liked everything about them. I'd do all my book reports or assignments on books about different turtles or reptiles, even when the topics of the reports had nothing to do with animals haha. They'd give me credit for good book reports done well but always write a note telling me to do reports on the correct topics. They'd bitch to my parents at parent teacher conferences lol. I ended up going in a different direction but I'm okay with it, life is pretty good.

Always fun to watch them in the Aquascape pond. I cld set up a chair on a nice day and watch them all day long. Who needs T.V when you have that kind of entertainment in your own tty/ yard!

In England Tortoises are all the land-based ones, Turtles are all the aquatic ones and Terrapins are found in ponds, so pretty similar if not the same to what you call them! Much love from the UK!

The Vietnamese pond turtles have a similar structure to the North American wood turtles. Wide flattened shell, concave plastron (males obviously) and big robust front limbs. Perhaps they have similar natural histories but from am ore tropical climate.
