We love to see Slinky and we are so glad that he is still with you. 💚. We keep our Redfoot out side during warmer weather. While he/she is still small I have an indoor enclosure for the winter. We live in central Arkansas so the winters can get quite cold. I plan to build a heated outdoor enclosure that is connected to a greenhouse.

Good thing that baby iguana wasn’t stuck during the intense sun or else it would be a cocked snack. You need some climbing fig for Slinky’s inclosure next to some of that block for it to grow and can save some of the rock cover for another project.

I am completely torn when you talk about going public, because of course I would LOVE to come hang out with you, Slinky, and the whole gang, that would be an amazing day!!! But the thought of random people trampling through your yard makes me cringe so much!!! I'd be terrified that they would be disrespectful! Maybe someday you can have a few fan appreciation days where just a handful of people could come and help you out with projects or something like that. Something that would actually be helpful to you. You could do raffles for spots and raise money for the Kamp. I know I'd buy a ticket and I'm sure I can safely say that most everyone else here would too!

Surprised mama didn't make you edit out that bathing suit booty! Impressed by everything you get done in a day Kenan. You should be happy to enjoy your backyard with all the work you and the family do to make it look special. Still think you need some other kind of enclosure with a different lizard. Something smaller like a frilled lizard or a Gecko habitat that the kids could help clean and decorate.

I think you should bedazzle the roof on Slinkys house. 🤣🤣Or at least the entryway. Seriously ...I see a huge empty canvas on top of casa for you to put some beautiful decorative work. Of course you'd have to glue it or screw it them down, but instead of just a boring old piece of plywood, it could look really pretty and match your enclosures Oasis motif. You need a plastic grate for the skimmer so the big turtles don’t get stuck in it. Simple fix.

That could work if it was just horizontal bars and they were situated to still allow the skimmer to work and the grate not get clogged.

He had a grate and it actually does more harm than good because the turtles get suctioned up against it and drown instead of getting sucked it. They can still breathe in the skimmer basket but just can’t get back out against the current.

Hopefully with the new fence, the Escape Artists won't be on the getaway again. Instead of mowing it all, pulling some of the isolated groups of grass will lesson some of that mowing and make it look a bit better. 🐢 🦎 🐢

Shore up the ponds and try to maintain a normal water level year round in them for more fish and turtle species. Expand all those exotic plants around the yard and especially on the borders with your neighbors. And of course, Slinky sized enclosures for the rest of the monitors as needed. I would also make sure to create a human walkable trail around the Kamp with the occasional bench and hydration station for guests. Personally I would move all the larger torts to the back from the front. I personally could not deal with my big torts being so close to the road and driveway. Carbon monoxide, people feeding them, people wanting to hop the fence for a pic and God forbid steal one. Also, you should mount that AP/Router you have outside upside down under your awnings. They give out better signal further that way. In fact i'd improve the entire infrastructure of the Kamp before I went further now I think about it. Water, electric and wifi where it is needed. Planned ahead of time so you do not have to redo any current projects. Last i'd look into geo tagging all the animals. This way you can never lose them. Last last consider an aviary type enclosure and keep native bird species there as well. Kinda shocked you have everything but birds there. Oh and did I mention expanding the fish population there as well? I know you want some sort of gators in there one day but based on the size of the property and the range of wild crocs, i'd either give that up or look into dwarf caimans as you could house a family of them in something twice the size of Slinky's enclosure and it would look incredible... Oh and as per the infrastructure, you should get all that water to pool in one area so it can be sanitized and reused in other places in the Kamp. I would def do rain water collection along with purification of current water to keep the place green and keep the animals wet. A small water purification plant would work well there and could be made naturally. Rocks, sand, etc. Hope you like some of these and I am going to guess that many of them are already on your list. My last suggestion is to buy all your neighbors places so you can expand around the area. And build a buffer between the Kamp and the rest of the neighborhood.

Some awesome ideas! I will say though, his gator area will be adequate for what he is planning and he already has the pond dug for it. But I do love caimans and dwarf crocks... Also, I don't know for sure, but it seems like the front of his property is a little higher and is less prone to flooding than the back, but I may be wrong on that. His ponds with the bio filtration are essentially cisterns that purify the water. I plan on building one for my yard but I'm going to go way overboard on the "underground' water storage/cistern/filter portion, that way the pond will stay at a constant level for longer in a dry spell, and it can be used as irrigation or even drinking water for other critters if you could figure out how to run pipes through the liner and to the enclosures without it leaking. Or instead of a pipe, you could do a stream, but that would be a huge and expensive project.
