Pulled the trigger on two cherry heads last year for the family and I give most of the credit to Kenan for enriching my Love for turtles, while giving me some confidence in raising such beautiful but fragile species of tortoise. WOW has it ever been a learning experience, but so, so fulfilling. Thanks Kenan for all of the educational content you produce!

I'm not even kidding Kenan, I caught my 3 year old son watching this video on his Nintendo switch via the KZbin app, I've never been more proud.....and annoyed that he beat me to your new video! Crikey, my kid is a new fan.....so so proud, he also said he wants 10 tortoises in water, I guess he has some things to learn. Thank you Kenan, wishing you and your family good health 🙏

I love the gators I had one I raised from a baby and he was 10 1/2 years old and I used to carry him around on my shoulder. I Took Munchie for rides in the car, and if his heat lamp happened to go out at night he slept with me in my bed! He never once opened his mouth on me but when that exotic pet law passed here in Ohio I had to find Munchie a home so I finally found a sanctuary in Tampa Fla. called Croc Encounters ran by John Panner. I still miss him so much he was tame just like any animal it’s all in how you raise them! I am a 68 year old woman who loves animals more than most people!! 🙏🏼❤️👵

No matter what the species two important things to provide when raising newly hatched Chelonians; a moist, humid *microclimate* and a *UVB basking light.* Also, hiding spots and warm/cool areas to thermoregulate are necessary. I don’t hibernate any local US species their first winter. I’ve also noticed species that are omnivorous as adults are more carnivorous as hatchlings.
