@@elainembla Ty and his crew are fine and all animals are fine and accounted for. They have some flooding, I know in the gift shop and all the fences are down and some habitats destroyed. They have to keep some of the animals in temp cages until repairs can be done. He is posting videos on his fb page, if that helps.

Your camp looks amazing when wet! All the enclosure and woodwork looks fresh and stable and so beautiful after a rain. Love seeing the snaggle tooth and dale looking so happy with their new water level. Need to make sure that stays high. Keep up the good work Kenan! The crazy thing is with her not being kenans biological daughter she's a lot like him and loves animals like him but it's like my oldest son I met my husband when my son was a month old he's been his dad for the whole 21 years of his life so far and he has his attitude his heart snd alot of other things more then the two I had by him lol it's so funny and weird at the same time how when you raise a child they end up being like you like my niece is with me She's more like me then her mom cause I raised her more then her mom did lol

Over 2 years ago when Hurricane Laura hit my area in Louisiana the very tall pine tree I had close to my trailer snapped. The top half that broke fell straight down, had it fell towards the east it would have landed on top of my mobile home!! I was very fortunate!!

Things over here in fort myers are catastrophic. The backside winds seemed worse the the front winds. Thought it was never going to stop. Glad you and the animals did well. We were lucky too.

Ty had a lot of structural damage but no one lost or injured. San Antonio Zoo and Fort Worth Zoo are sending teams to help him rebuild.

Glad you, your family and the animals are ok. I am from TX and grew up on the TX coast, so very familiar with hurricanes. Was in Brownsville, TX when Beulah (Cat4 - 5) hit there back in the late 60s. Our house was ok, but neighbors house was hit by a tornado in the hurricane and lost their entire roof which was lifted off intact and put down right next too it. Hurricanes are bad by themselves, but they generate a bunch of tornados too and the flooding. I was in Palm Beach when Hurricane Andrew hit Florida back 25 or so years ago. Not fun.

Wow that's an immense amount of water and the initial storm hasn't hit by you , whoa! I was thinking about you yesterday , I also saw Paul Cuffaro's sanctuary which has also gotten a huge load of water. where most of his animals enclosures are filled with it! Hoping you , your family and reptiles fare well, as well as your property and home, hoping and praying, for all your friends subject to the eye of the storm! Thank You for the update! I was watching Storm Chasers and Ryan Hall, Y'all for the real time view of what happening out y'all's way, So happy your family and all the critters are doing well. thanks for the up date, much appreciated. the animals seem happy and less worried then the rest of us lol. what did surprise me tho was how much the big tortoises loved the water. that was really cool to see and observe. maybe they get a cool water feature with a rain shower they can walk thru and soak in when they feel up to it... just a thought :)

Kenan, get a nice pair of pruners with a belt holster, and any time you see something that needs pruning, you've got your tool right there, as you travel around the property. Felco makes really good ones.

Glad to see you're ok. Still praying for everyone on the west side of Florida. I'm in Mississippi and I've lived on the gulf coast most of my life been through some major hurricanes. I watched all day yesterday knowing what the people there were dealing with. We got lucky here the cold front pushed it east. I pray there's not a lot of people or animals that have lost their lives. The water in my brother’s pond in W Palm rose to within 6 feet of his back door! Those ferns can be divided when they get large & replanted. Dividing/transplanting is best done now (in the fall) and in the early spring.

Good to hear the Kamp is safe! I missed out on multiple storms by being lucky to NOT be in the area when they hit! I left Florida 2 years before the two storms that ran through Orlando (2004) and have never been in-state when they hit south where my parents are (they're safe). Yeah, the state's going to be rebuilding a while. The worst storm to hit the West side in over a decade.
