6:11 "Remember there are are many different ways to get a good result" On that note, I'd like to add that Auto Vinyl wrapping is another method to try this, especially if you're like me and live in an apartment without a proper open space to paint. There are plenty of chrome vinyls out there. Vinyl wrapping has its own challenges than painting, but what's nice about it is that you can typically peel it off and reapply, so it's pretty forgiving. all you need is a heat gun, a squeegee, and a smooth surface. You will need to prime your foam so it can stick better. as for bending/stress test, I've only used it on pieces that don't require bending ,so I can't quite vouch for that. But most blades are typically stiff and for aesthetics anyways, so doing a sword/blade should be fine.

Interesting...does this Auto Vinyl come in Bronze?

Those flashbacks reminded me of one of Luis's rambles in Ant-Man. Hilarious! I recently discovered Krylon foil metallic spray in silver - it's HIGHLY reflective, will actually blind you in sunlight, works on craft foam with PlastiDip and stays flexible (no cracking that I've seen) and doesn't need to be sealed. I started by trying it out on a plastic sword blade, then on a plastic helmet, then on my armor pieces. It looks much more realistic on the plastic, but is so much more shiny and "metal like" than straight silver spray paint on the craft foam.

I don't know if this is applicable to foam, but what you do when chroming (or really any high grade paint job) in the automotive industry, is you apply several layers of both primer and base color, and in between each application you sand the surfaces to a very fine grit, to end up with as smooth of a surface as you can. I've seen people doing this on rigid props, like 3d-prints, and then followed up with Alclad for a VERY convincing, almost mirror-shine, chrome finish. If you want something a bit more shiny and reflective, I reckon this is the way to do it, no matter what the substrate is, or if it's rigid or flexible.
