A question I get a lot is how to properly apply PlastiDip to EVA foam without getting nasty textures and bubbles. So I thought it would be a good idea to make a little video about it! Hope it's helpful! :)

Learning from mistakes is an essential step, so showing your mistakes so others can see what correct looks like and what wrong looks like help everyone a lot! After that, we can find the range in between and strive to perfect our work. Really smart move!

I didn't know about warming the can and pretty much suck at spray painting in general (I have no patience) so I ended up with the texture you got when you sprayed too closely the first time I used PlastiDip. That being said, after watching some videos of people who use it on cars, I was able to save my project by using Paint Thinner to remove the PlastiDip in the areas where I had messed up the texture and saved my project. I definitely think that is worth mentioning! (Thank you for your commitment to educating us all on your techniques! It is so appreciated!)

Watch The entire process in first person by the people over at dip your car on youtube. Also your first coat should only be about 50% coverage then for the next wet coats you want a 50% over lap on each spray. Now I would assume spraying anything besides metals and plastics may be a bit different but Idk havent tried it.

Warming the can causes expansion in the gas propellant ensuring good spray pressure and consistent pressure. However she failed to key each layer before painting which could result in peeling. I was a paint sprayer for 8 years including plastic coatings.

When it comes to applying the 3-4 coats, do you let it sit the full 24 hours between coats or just until it appears dry? Wondering if the 3-4 coats should take 3-4 days or just a few hours.

Awesome video! Fun fact, I had trouble with caulking some of my bonded areas of my wonder woman golden eagle armor project. Desperate to cover the bumps, I used plasti dip since flexbond doesn't coat over the caulk. The reason I didn't want to use plasti dip is because I was using Bennie's tutorial for the metal look which is better achieved using flexbond. But I found that the flexbond does adhere to the plastic dip! So crisis averted? I can now complete the look as intended. Yay experimenting while stuck at home 👍

If you want to get rid of the texture just spray with car brake cleaner when the plastic coating has just dried, this acts as a leveller and will flatten out any orange peel and make the coated surface level and then will just evaporate off.
