The song is actually a dialogue between two lovers (the young boy and the girl) who have developed a few cracks in their relationship. The guy blames the girl of not understanding true meaning of love and betraying him. The girl responds with her explanation and shifting the blame back on the guy. The guy then attributes the girls behavior to her high social/financial status compared to him. The third, more traditional guy, sees the situation from his more experienced perspective and advises them to mend ways and hold hands. At the same time he complains how love nowadays is not as pure as it used to be. During the song, the boy and girl keep shifting the walls and finally end up in the same space indicating how voicing their concerns have combined them together.

You guys nailed it so kudos to you both 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The song is sung in a regional language (Balochi) spoken in Pakistan. In fact all three artists are singing in three very different dialects of Balochi. It's a very beautiful and rich language. The song is about Love, Friendship and Betrayal. Coke Studio described the song as Balochi Pop. Even though Balochi is not commonly spoken in Pakistan, they wanted to have the song a global feel to it by adding poppy beats so it transcends language. As for the lyrics and message, the male singer and female artist represent two sides of a relationship that went from love to betrayal. They are singing/rapping about their greviences with one another and their failed love/friendship that felt like a betrayal. As for the traditional singer, he represents the wise man who is enlightening both that they are not the first ones to encounter such love and betrayal and will definitely not be the last 😄It's a fun number. Even though I'm not familiar with the language, I fell in love with the beat and it's composition. Glad you two were vibing with the song 🎶👍🏼

Balochi is spoken by millions of people just to clarify. Yes, it's not as common as Urdu or even Punjabi but it's spoken by a lot of people.

Eva B, the female rapper is so interesting especially because of how her attire "clashes" with the kind of music she does. She doesn't always cover her hair though, but she chose to always cover her face. She says she feels most comfortable that way.

Hey guys, this song was originally written and composed by Khalil and its about the aftermath of a breakup and a little bit of a banter and blame game, so Eva the first Pakistani female rapper who heard Eminem's album on the computer she bought and it introduced her to this genre and inspired her to write her own. She is full of energy and creativity, she wrote this as a reply to Khalil's words as a reply from the girl's point of view in the breakup. Religion plays a huge role in the lives of most Pakistanis and yes generally its Islam as its the religion followed by the majority population and hence there are no curse words in lyrics. In an interview she talks about her attire giving her the power and how she struggles to rap without her Abaya/Niqab. Keep the reactions rocking and rolling, Atif Aslam is next In a way you haven't seen or heard before, so have fun :)

Music is supposed to elicit feelings even if it's not completely understood based on linguistic barriers so even if your class didn't understand 'tu jhoom' or this song or any other it's still opening them up to new styles and cultures of music which they're not familiar with. It sometimes takes a bit of time to get used to music that's completely different to the one we've grown up and find ourselves acclimated to. Do switch on the lyrics to fully appreciate the beautiful lyrics of each song because the lyrics are absolutely phenomenal.

There is ishq-e-majazi (illusory love, false love, Ego-based love, physical love, love of the physical, love of Maya, love of Dunya) and Ishq-e-haqiqi (True Love) which belongs to the realm of the Divine. He laments the corrupting influences of the Ego (Nafs) in ishq-e-majazi by alluding to the socioeconomic status and privileges of his earthly beloved. This is not about anything religious. Its about fake friends, fake love, They are comparing what people claim to be love in today's world back to the old folk love stories (like even in the american world, people are aware of tales such as romeo and juliet etc) This is a time and age, where people stick by you in good times but betray you or leave you in the cold in testing times, so they take you back to remind you what real love was back in the golden ages (we have lots of love stories and folk literature like sassi pannu, laila majnoo, heer ranjha etc all where lovers sacrificed for each other, they were an ode to real love) and not what these youngsters call love these days. Its a simple message but still has depth for those who know what they are talking about.
