(I agree with Lauren 😭) Starbucks is definitely a fancy thing here too. I can't go there though because looking at the price makes me want to walk straight out. I wouldn't say it's expensive, but there are definitely cheaper alternatives

i rarely eat fast food stuff so i don't know about how starbucks is viewed here but i relate to kenmochi i drink my drinks quickly, so cafes doesn't really work for me since i'd sit for few minutes and my drink is already gone

Interesting... Starbucks was seen as lower quality here. Not cheap but lower quality. Basically fast food of coffee. There's definitely a lot more (better) coffee shops I'd rather go to at the price point. Most of the time I make my own coffee which tastes way better and cheaper.
