in the original in Japanese, there is a nuance that makes the scene even more emotional. She says "Daisuki" and he answers "Aishiteru" In japanese, both words mean "I love you" but "Aishiteru" is stronger emotionally. Which would give something like "I love you", "I love you even more".

Well unfortunately the studios think primarily in terms of profits... and FMP was never as popular as the likes of Naruto or Fairy Tail :( But at least we know how it ends... just read FMP Sigma. It covered The Second Raid, Invisible Victory (years before it came out as anime), and then all the way to the end of the story... and dear God, what a payoff. And what a heart-wrencher getting there...

Seeing this as a clip does not do this justice! The emotion you get seeing Souske with his team again, the Mithril back together is like nothing else! This is why this has become one of my favorite mecha anime, Light novel, and fucking anime period! Now...can we get a fucking season 5!!!!! Maymei1205 In the anime they’re not married but Sagara said “I’LL NEVER NEED A WEAPON AS LONG AS I HAVE YOU”, Sagara no longer worked in Mithril after Chidori was gone for more than 1yr, he quit and looked for Chidori...so the contact between Sagara and Mithril was long gone...he only pilot AL when they accidentally met in one place where Sagara thought Chidori was being detained....but rest assured this anime is epic and sealed the ending with a kiss in front of everyone

But if I'm going to compare the last episode of FMP Invisible Victory to the chapters from FMP Sigma, the ending is still on around chapter 45-50 (not exactly sure). However, their kiss happened on chapter 90 of FMP Sigma. There are still a lot of things that will happen before they were able to meet again.
