@@adepressedcupcake To be fair, L'Manberg was pretty "tyrannical" at that point with the all Technoblade(Philza's good old time friend) headhunting and putting Philza under house arrest, going through his stuff all the while breaking things in his house. Meanwhile, Wilbur's death is also justified as he went too deep into the rabbit hole and basically asked Philza to kill him. In fact, Philza actually canonically didnt want to kill Wilbur as Wilburs is his son, but chose to take on his responsibilities and killed him despite how much it pained him.

Tommy is not just a hero or a soilder or a person with trauma, he also has this pain from the fact that he is an example child. The example child is the one designed to be the example for everyone and everything. They end up being the leader, the fighter, the best friend, the child and the one going through the trauma first, because the first sets the example. They are a role model of both what to do and what not to do. That is what Tommy in the Dream SMP is. Even his name is just one that isn't often used for "real" people, just for an example used for people that don't exist. The fact that he is an example child causes role loss sensitivity, which is a sensitivity to losing roles you once filled, trauma, and a desire to be his own person beyond the example for others with the knowledge that he will never end up being someone beyond an example even after he has healed. Tommy from the DSMP is example of what happens when being an example child is taken too far. We tell others and ourselves to be the biggest person, the better person, the example everyone needs but Dream SMP Tommy asks the question of the long term effects, and if we should do this over letting people figure themselves out. Oh my gosh... This is painful. For what felt like months, he never got to see the blue sky. See the flowers, including those alliums Ranboo seemed fond of... He's only seen as a child when it's beneficial for others. When he's a child in inconvenient times, he's abandoned and left alone. Such was his situation with Techno, who saw in Tommy the personification of what governments could do to its citizens. But the moment he's a child again, crying out for his best friend, Tommy is treated as an adult who can fight wars yet again.

Coming to here and watching and listening to this video makes me realize. Tommy never got his happy ending. He never snapped. He was never apologized to by the people who scarred him. Instead, *he* apologized to Dream. I knew the ending was going to be bittersweet. I knew it wasn’t going to be the happiest. But the ending we got wasn’t sweet at all. It was entirely bitter. And it makes me so pissed to know that all his suffering was for nothing. No closure. No hope. No sweet. I know I’m getting emotional about these block men but how can I not at this point? I invested my emotional being into their story, only for that to be entirely obsolete. I know the CC’s have lives outside of block men roleplay, but they could’ve done something where Punz and Dream were defeated and put in the prison but Tommy misses Wilbur and all the other people who died. It could’ve ended with Tubbo and Tommy sitting on the Bench and talking to each other about how they’ll live now that Dream is away forever. They could’ve talked about plans for the future. And talking about Ranboo’s death and how they’ll miss him. That’s how I like to imagine it went.

Honestly, not enough people take enough time to appreciate Tommy's acting and lore skills. Talking, getting the right tone, thats hard enough, and all the members do that.. But with facecam, the way he's cried actual tears, the way you see REAL stress in his eyes- It's amazing. He's an amazing actor. He acts truly clueless of things he really knows, and he is just such an amazing actor. I have tried to do lore myself before, and its actually quite tricky, keeping a character, and trying to match it with facial expressions- Gods be damned.. It's absolute talent. And of course- THE CHARACTER! Starting as a boy just wanting to make trouble and have fun, and turning into a solider, a rebellion, a enemy of the strongest man on the server- Just think.. We all saw his first stream, expecting to see him annoy people.. And now, we watch his lore streams, as Dream is out of prison, as Tommy deals with the "Trauma" Dream has caused him- And think only of the story. Finally- ALL HE DEALS WITH! You wouldn't think so, but there are actually a lot of haters, especially for Dream SMP members. Not to mention that people still ship him with others, despite the fact he's a minor, as well as the fact he is NOT okay with it. The reason we don't see hate comments on KZbin- Is because the KZbinrs delete them. The KZbinrs see them, but we don't. Which is sad. They save their community from it, but not themselves. Having already read it. So basically, I'm saying, TommyInnit, gods be damned you're amazing.

c!Tommy has been through so much (you could even say the most) on the dsmp. We all know losing a pet is one of the worst things that could happen and he lost Henry not once, but twice. He has been betrayed and manipulated multiple times. When you think about it most of the adult figures on the server have traumatised him in one way or another. Most of the time people wanted to hurt him to "teach him a lesson". Look at c!Dream, who says he finds it fun. This whole thing is literally a game for him. I mean he decided beat c!Tommy to death just to prove a goddam point.

im not really into the dsmp since its ended but i still love this song (and Tommys character as a whole really) i feel like it perfectly encapsulates the fact that Tommy in the end is just a kid, a kid who made bad mistakes but also a kid that should've gotten an apology, that deserved hope and a sweet ending to his story but in the end he apologizes to dream and i feel like its a good representation of a bitter ending, one where the characters have no hope at the end, i might be jumping around too much but it really reminds me of Theseus (and greek stories as a whole really) where the stories are tragedies, it doesn't matter if they deserved a good or bad ending they are just that, tragedies.
