Loved it! It feels like you've captured authentic Japanese life in an area that's not a tourist hotspot, thus not overcrowded.

Thanks Andre! Yes, I really recommend Kanazawa to anyone planning a trip (everyone seems to be heading to Japan these days).

Really, really nice man. Just good stuff all around. I respect your ability to get "in" on the shots. The gardeners with the umbrellas were unreal!! Nicely captured.

Cheers - the umbrella shots were my favourite from that day of shooting! A remarkable number of people employed to tend the garden.

What a great video and amazing photos! Thank you for sharing these beautiful shots. I bought my first camera this month (Fujifilm X100Vi) and will be visiting Tokyo soon. I hope I can capture pictures as wonderfully as you do. P.S. I have watched your video of rural Japan many times and never got bored of it.

Wow - that means a lot! Really excited for you, it will no doubt be very memorable. I'll try and get the Tokyo episode edited, and it may help you decide which areas to visit 🗼

Great shots. Seeing this makes me want to trade in my Ricoh GRII for a IIIx. I've always preferred the 40mm focal point. Nice vid, looks like your trip went well!
@po.ntandshoot8 ай бұрын
The GR IIIx has been my first GR, so I'm tempted the opposite / wider angle way 💸
@geneparcellano8 ай бұрын
@@po.ntandshoot Haha, might be good to have both. I've got a feeling I'll end up keeping the GRii if I get a GRiiix. It's been pretty hard to find a used one at a good price though... I don't really want to but I might have to buy a new one.

been keeping up with your x100vi / GRIIIX series, really making it tough for me to decide between the two! for this video, are the photos straight from camera or post editing? if the former, what recipe is being used? thank you in advance!
@po.ntandshoot5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! In this video, I've made the edits in post/lightroom using the Ricoh Positive Film simulation + a few tweaks to contrast/shadows. Good luck with your decision!

Do you use shutter priority for those moving bike shots? Or snap focus? Look super crisp. Thanks for sharing.
@po.ntandshoot8 ай бұрын
These were all shot on aperture priority. As the cyclists weren't flying by too quickly, the continuous focus held up well. I usually have the auto S.S set to a minimum of 1/125 👍🏻
