I decided not to trim my own hair anymore. It’s overwhelming and I usually end up making my hair really uneven. I’ll be going to Natasha 3-4 times a year. Thanks for plugging her! I struggled to find a stylist in FL and am glad I gave her a shot!

Even though many naturals are divesting from the natural hair community, I still love watching natural trim, wash days, and hair styles after many years of being natural myself.
@monie9484 жыл бұрын
Why did you go back to a relaxer 🤔
@ladylaurenia3 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand the whole “divesting” from the natural hair community thing. I find it melodramatic. I still enjoy watching natural hair videos from time to type, especially women with long type 4 hair. It’s inspirational.
@KLB12183 жыл бұрын
@@ladylaurenia I agree. I don’t think a majority of black women are “divesting”. I think many women don’t want to do the work, but relaxing is more work

When I trim I cut off what I can see through. That's all the damaged ends. Not concerned with the length, but different strokes... Also , going Natural is a fad for some, I have been Natural for 12 years, not going back . It gets easier once you find the products that work for you.
@lyric65493 жыл бұрын
@@KLB1218 I’m fully natural, but i was relaxed for majority of my life and it was definitely less work lol. But if you have thick long relaxed hair like i did it can be alot of work. thick hair in general whether you’re natural, or relaxed it will always be alot of work sadly.

I used to blow dry my hair and straighten it before trimming when I was relaxed now that I'm natural I trim my hair in mini twist. I find that it works just fine too. I also trim my ends when I'm experiencing high shedding (which I hate because I have fine strands and I don't want to look bald lol) and when I'm really struggling to dentangle my hair even after a good deep treatment. So for me like every 4/5 months. #HealthyHairGang 🙆🏽🙆🏽🙆🏽

Hello, you described my hair perfectly. I washed it today and I struggled with so badly with tangles, Ugh! I have bra strap length, fine hair. May I ask what you use for your tangles? Today was the 1st time I've ever blow dried and trimmed my own hair. Been shedding but I think its only when I finger detangle. Did a protein treatment today too so we'll see how these steps work. Any advice you have though would be greatly appreciated.
@alexianicole72683 жыл бұрын
@@virginiawilliams648 Hey! :) I use the alikay naturals lemongrass leave in conditioner right after I rinse my deep conditioner out and my hair is still wet. Then I go in with the Shea moisture curl and style milk section by section to detangle with a wide tooth comb. I always layers my products because I have high porosity hair. So even after I use those 2 products I go in with the TGIN buttercream, Jamaican black castor oil, and last but not least the As I Am double butter cream to seal everything in. My hair is waist length! Regular trims are important too! I think you’re doing a great job!!! Hope this helps darling 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

I trimmed my hair as a teenager. I thought I had loads of split end damage( which I still think it was and is sadly). So I started to trim, and next thing I knew it turned into a cut. My hair was butchered 😂. I had one part that was shoulder length and another that was above my jawline and another not passing my ear. It was so funny lol. I was walking around like this but no one could tell as I was hiding it very well lol. Made it look like a very cute bob 😂

Great video that was helpful. I have been thinking about calling my old stylist (haven't had a professional trim since October 2015!), for a trim. But, with COVID, I am reluctant to go to a shop. Currently my hair is about the same length as yours, maybe a little longer. I just dusted my ends in small twists. But I really want to get all of the unhealthy ends gone! I just had my hair blow out in June, with a trim. Is it best to trim with my hair blown out, or can I trim in y natural state? And, how often should we trim our hair? I was told every three months?
@jdm66133 жыл бұрын
Now see I like your trim. My stylist would've cut all the hair off that was "see through" per se. So I walk in with a nice length and leave out shoulder or neck length. 😒
@marleyhill343 жыл бұрын
It depends on how well you look after your hair and how often you trim. My ultra-fine hair really needs to be trimmed every 6 weeks. One week in the holiday sun gave my hair one inch of damage. My hair is damaged easily. My stylist caught it quickly and because I went to him within 6 weeks of the damage. So he treated my hair with bond repair treatment and I have been diligent with my alternating weekly protein and moisture treatments and weekly protective styling. He cut half an inch. I just cut eighth of an inch at home and at 8 weeks he will cut another half of an inch. So my stylist is cutting 6 weeks of damage which is hardly anything. Now if you go to the salon ever 12 weeks or 24 weeks and you don't take care of you hair that's why the stylist has to cut off inches. The damage travels faster than most of us can grow our hair. I'd say everyone should check their end ever 6 weeks and self trim. Then if you still want to go to the salon go ahead. Coarse hair needs trimming less than fine hair and 3a hair needs trimming less than 4c hair.
