Fantastic finish on those panels Kandy Man, as you say some times the slower way can end up being faster as you don't have a big nibbing and polishing job on your hands, that hood looked spotless to me superb finish👌👍John UK

Looks good. Quick question. What can i do to cut down on bad rock pecks on hoods and front bumpers? It does it on new hoods, bumpers, and used hoods. It doesn't seem to be peeling, but chipping pretty bad. Not for sure if it's the clearcoat. Some people say cheaper products can do that. Some say polyurethane clear coats can help. I always seal new bumper covers and still see them on cars that i have done in the past. They may come in for something else and I'll remember what i painted on them

I've wanted to try slick sand, what grit papers do you use to block and finish it out in before sealer and base. What cleaner are you using before paint does that cleaner need to be followed up with a dry wipe.

Worth the extra effort NOT to buff a black hood. You ever use a stat gun for eliminating static, especially on SMC/ fiberglass parts? Was a game changer for me years ago when I got one but then again, I don't spray in a 150k Garmat, probably not needed in that environment

is it recommended to use an epoxy primer before any kind of other filling primers to seal the fiberglass? im doing restoration work and we always use a epoxy before filling primers/big work. ive never done any fiberglass stuff before

On metal that's the best way but not needed on fiberglass

I have a restoration project I am working on and was thinking about using this polyester filler but I was told that it is very porous and can cause bubbling in the paint later on down the line. Is this true or did I get false information?

Ok thanks bro, really appreciate it, I was worried to use it cuz the guy told me you have to really bake the crap out of it to get all the moisture out before you paint or will get bubbles in the paint later in the future so it had me a little worried about using it since i don't have a booth, but now I feel more confident. Polyester primers are porous. You're not supposed to wet sand them. Maybe that's the issues someone has had.
