Cox was extremely frustrating to watch, but on the flip side, i think its been amplified a little as the ball easily enters Essendons defensive 50 too often. I don't think there'd be that much light on Cox if the ball doesn't always land on our last line of defence. Regardless, he needs to try harder and learn to intercept. Forwards need to learn to kick to advantage and lower their eyes. Stringer had Merrett open, tries to go for goal outside 50 and misses... Merrett in frustration threw his hands in the air

The guy is a wingman or should play as the loose forward he’s no defender and they’re playing him in defence when he hasn’t got a defensive bone in his body he has no idea what he’s doing and he’s actually been pretty good better than Laverde this year I reckon that’s probably not saying much 😂. Need to get an experienced mature age defender from somewhere to help guide them they look lost far to often, and it’s not good enough for a defensive coach is clearly isn’t doing his job and needs to be replaced immediately following the season and hopefully he is I’ve heard Leppitsch is looking at the position definitely get him in and if he doesn’t help, it’s clearly the personnel/players not the coach and I don’t care how much they getting paid if they’re not playing well you may as well trade them because they’re just holding the club back from future success with there lazy half-hearted attempts at defending.
