This game's had a massive impact on GTA 5. The bank robbery mission is freakishly similar to the prologue in GTA 5. The character of Kane, a has-been bank robber, is similar to michael both in character and history. The character of Lynch, a psychotic team mate, the voice, the body language, the weird friendship with Kane with black outs is also pretty damn similar. 1:25:42 the entire mission where you rappel down the building too. Damn.

I was enthralled by this game at 15. The 7? How did Kane operate with them. What ultimately and specifically sperated him and his wife? Payback to Romoto by giving him the same facial scar? Whattt? I find it's an amazing story that was never about the destination. But the journey.

The Retomoto thing is layered. By giving Kane the scar, he made Kane's criminal career hell as anyone would recognise him from a police sketch. Specially The7. While the background of the scar is that Kane was having affair with Yoko and Retomoto did that as a punishment.

@@Marksman_12 Kane used to run with The7. The7 was mainly known for going around countries and helping any any criminal organization rise upon a civil war against government forces. During one mission, Kane betrays The7 by leaving them to burn as he takes a helicopter and leaves. When living with his wife and kids, Kane becomes paranoid and though he promised his wife to keep guns away from the house, he lied and had one kept in a safe. One day Kane's son, who's younger than Jenny (kane's daughter), proceeds to open the safe and accidentally shoot himself in the head right in front of Jenny. This causes Kane's wife to panic and call the cops putting the whole blame on Kane which leads Kane to escape America and into Japan where he meets Retomoto. Retomoto then has Kane running a few tasks for him. Retomoto is then pleased with Kane's work and proceeds to give Kane the protection he asked for and a position to continue working for him. As Kane continued to perform tasks for Retomoto, he gots closer and closer and soon met with Retomoto's Daughter: Yoko. Kane then proceeds to have an affair with Yoko which Retomoto soon finds out about and hunts Kane down to give him a permanent scar that anyone can recognize. Retomoto does not kill kane but banishes him onto the streets to where he moves back into America to go relive with his wife and kids. Upon Entering America, Kane gets arrested in the airport to where the first mission begins.

I had a PS3 for a while, before that, a PS2 and played Max Payne 3, Call of Duty World at War and they were the only games I completed. I also got this. I really wanted a PS3 game to match The Getaway for the PS2, and I tried Kane and Lynch. It was pretty good, but it didn't have auto aiming, which ruined it for me. I'm not a brilliant game player, and I got stuck on the level with the construction site with the truck, just before the prison break. Nearly a hundred attempts, but couldn't do it, so I quit and went back to the Playstation 2 and my beloved The Getaway. PS3 games are very sophisticated, but I don't think they're as much fun as PS2 games and I only wanted to play World at War and Max Payne 3 once. It's great to see though how you have managed to complete this with ease and it looks great. It's like watching a movie. Thanks for the upload and congrats on completing it and doing what I was never able to. They should make a movie of this. I have noticed on another comment that a movie was attempted, but the deal fell through and didn't happen. Still hope it could. This will do for now though.

Most underrated game of all time. Not the best game of all time, certainly not. But definitely the most underrated. Great story, great characters, pretty good writing with just some low budget execution. Really, really good lessons to learn and the dialogue is fantastic. "I pay my debts...to the penny." Even just having 2 balding protagonists is unheard of. This game was gritty, realistic, and had a lot of little details that newer games lack. I'll never forget this game. It'll always stick with me.
