THIS IS NOT MY SOURCE. I COPIED AND PASTED THIS FROM MYANIMELIST FORUM. Actually, the "One-Eyed King" never existed (Hence we never see the true face of the "OEK". Just an old skeleton with a crown). Eto started that as a myth to make every ghoul AND human know that the One-Eyed King is the strongest and undefeated. So when the OEK finally comes to, he can be a symbol, a hope for ghouls and humans alike. After her duel with Arima, he asks her the reason for doing what she is doing and she tells him that she wants to fuck up this world and start a new world. So, since Arima is the strongest and the undefeated CCG reaper, Eto "made" him the OEK. In my opinion, Arima didn't even know that he is the OEK. Meanwhile, Arima had his own reasons for training Kaneki because he has a very short time to live. 2 birds 1 stone. Hence, Eto wished for Kaneki to kill the OEK and now that the OEK (Arima) is dead, the throne is empty. Whether Kaneki will sit on that throne or not, it's up to him. And, he certainly IS sitting on the throne.

"RE" means "KING" it was there the whole fucking time... Damn this chapter was lit af. Akira and Arima were like parents to Sasaki, but Eto and Arima were like parents to Kaneki, damn. My BOY Hirako tho this chapter, glad he's done with CCG's shit and finally resigned right in front of two special class investigators lol their reactions were priceless. Kaneki's kakuja is looking like a centipede hate fucked a dragon and that's how that kakuja was born XD. He looks even more badass with that cloth around his mouth piece, getting on some ninja shit. I really hope Eto doesn't die, even if she does die I feel like she contributed A LOT to the story and Kaneki's character. Really good chapter 10/10 loved it!

Chibi remember Arima was losing sight in one of his eyes, he's the strongest investigator and was in the belly of the ccg. learning he could see in only one eye confirmed that he was the one-eyed king that she wanted him to kill. Also chibi I don't know if I am just seeing things but on page 16 the page where kaneki says I am if you look closely on the thing covering his mouth I think there is something towards that top right of it. it might be a number not sure just letting you know.

All hail king Kaneki. With the reveal that Arima was the OEK, he passed the crown to his heir. Interesting that he and Eto had a 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch your back' arrangement. I absolutely loved the panel when Hirako quit, Aura and Mougan were stunned. With Kaneki declaring himself the new OEK, the revolution to take down the CCG and V begins. I'd say that Arima planning this with Eto's help was him giving both organizations the middle finger. Back in chapter 141 when Tatara said that the king was going to pass, he meant that it was Arima. In addition, his battle with Eto on the rooftop was all an act. Very clever on Arima's part how he was sticking it to his superiors then. Once the word spreads of what is taking place at Cochlea, I'm looking forward to all the fallout from it and especially with those who learns of Hirako and the Zero Squad betrayal.

Arima certainly wasn't a ghoul. But he did have only one working eye, hence the name one eyed king.

The one eyed king name was given to Arima way before he lost his sigh, it means to be someone that's a Hybrid of human and Ghoul (like Arima is since he's a child from the Garden)

The title of "One-Eyed King" is more metaphorical if anything than a literal reference to appearance. Arima, the half human, spent his entire life becoming the legendary benchmark for ghouls to surpass while Eto, the half-ghoul, spent her entire life amassing a following of ghouls that regard the One-Eyed King as the messiah of their kind. Arima wasn't the "real" one-eyed king. The one-eyed king is a ghoul that'll not only surpass him and Eto, but someone who will bring balance to both ghouls and humans. The most powerful CCG investigator and ghoul were both warming the throne for the REAL king to assume his title.
