Leandros talks about following the Codex, but in reality, he didn't follow it. When suspecting a fellow space marine of corruption, you report it to the Chapter Chaplain not to Inquisition. I hope that Guilliman tears Leanodros a new one in Space Marine 3.

@@rainman8534 no. Because it was not only against Codex, but in general it was a gross Insubordination. Going to Inquisition over your higher ups - officers, chaplains, chapter master - won't be received in a good way in any chapter. No matter how strictly they follow the Codex. Titus, and for that matter - any marine, especially of Guilliman bloodline, does not think that the military code and subordination is "a recommendation". But the Codex is MUCH more, than just military code. It is closer to a handbook, it contains recommendations, tactics, and strategies you can use. It also contains points on ideology, routine, heraldry, stuff like that. It does contain the military code too, sure. But it doesn't mean you must shit on a schedule, use exclusively tactics and moves from the book, etc. That memed "Codex Astartes does not support this action" is exactly about the latter. It is about how ridiculous to ONLY use tactics and moves that were written 10k years ago, while enemies are changing (and you even find new ones) and you need to adapt and find new ways to be effective and to achieve success. Damn, even the Black Templars, who are barely Adeptus Astartes in fact, who are very close to Inquisition, who are not Codex-complaint on exactly the military code and structure part, who actually worship the Emperor as a god (loyalist Astartes don't do that usually) and are religious as hell - even they won't like if some young brother would snitch to an Inquisitor directly, disregarding their higher ups completely. In fact, they are rigorously keeping any corruption incidents in-house and deal with those by themselves with their own methods.

There’s a whole story on what happened between SM1 and SM2. To sum it up, that Inquisitor Thrax guy hated Space Marines (*especially bcuz of the Badab War*) and physically and psychologically tortured Titus and less than 20 other Astartes he had locked up. When Calgar found out about what happened, he was *PISSED.* He kept trying to get the Inquisition to release Titus, but to no avail. After some getting into some Grey Knights shenanigans, he got Daemon-possessed and killed by some Grey Knights. Afterwards, the Inquisition sent the Red Hunters chapter to Thrax’s HQ, where they found and released Titus and the other prisoners. At this point, Titus thought he’d let the Ultramarines down, so he joined the Deathwatch Blackshields as penance and went under the name Nullus. The other DW members had no idea that Nullus was actually Titus, let alone an Ultramarine. So eventually, Kadaku happens. But lightyears away, Ultramarine Chief Librarian Varro Tigurius could sense that Titus was still very much alive and immediately went after him. And that’s how Titus got rescued from that Carnifex.
