Kan, I think you need some sort of crosshair on your cabin front, otherwise your mech is perfect. Shame it can’t fire missile and don’t have jet pack, with makes me wonder ( could you use reverse vacuum to lob gas cans ? ) and jet pack with suspension glitch it should be balanced right ?

@@cyphi474 It seems like the gun already is fixed to the rotation of the cabin (apart from the 180 degree flip), but because the 1st person view isn't locked to the vehicle, the crosshair doesn't work as an aiming indicator. A centered piece of coloured glass or maybe even netting or some other transparent block might prove really helpful.

@@zaralass5274 Thats not going to help much, because head movement isnt fixed aswell. WW I planes used pipe with two wire crosshairs on each end. If pilot aligned his head position so both crosshairs in his view were aligned, he was looking straight. That could work here too, it would be more accurate.

I have a suggestion for the walker. Make a "aiming" spud gun in the centre of the other spud guns that would be controlled by a button, but would only shoot once each press, so you can aim your shots without wasting as much ammo.

You could make this turn without a suspension glitch by sequencing the legs differently (1 at a time for example) however it'd take a bit more logic to do and it'd be a bit bulkier.

Ideas for upgrades of the chicken mech: 1. Add a second firing mode, that shoots slower / just one spudgun so that you don't waste a ton of spuds when ranging shots 2. Add extendable concrete pegs to the legs, so that you can switch to "turbo mode" and travel faster or retract them for better manouverability (as you have it now with those pipe pieces) 3. Add some sort of aiming aid / iron sights to use from first person view

Great vid Kan, I made something very similar just for the warehouse when I found out you could take creations into the elevator/warehouse but I put suspension on the legs because I kept having problems it the office area with all the junk on the floor (like you did) and the suspension really helps, mine had 2 turrets on either side that converged to the middle and I built a reticle/crosshair to help me aim at the tapebots and to my amazement it did extremely well once I fine tuned the aiming setup also I setup a switchable burst fire and a single shot(actually shoots 2 at once so I'm sure to kill) I dont waste ammo., Looking forward to seeing the evolution of yours mate, Cheers 🍻

The warehouses actually respawn, you just have to kill all of the tapebots inside of it. Once you did that and leave the warehouse, it'll require you to reinsert a key

You should put a chest on the walker for extra inventory space, and could you use or gates to make multiple firing modes? You have the auto mode then you can have a single shot mode using two circuits that connect to an or gate then the or gate feeds into the spud gun. You could also make a trailer for the walker if you need to travel larger distances quicker without fighting the suspension glitch while going up terrain.

That is a really good design. I would make it not so tall and use 5 guns in a line to make aiming easier. Also add a antenna in front of the seat to use as a cross to aim better.

Nice walking idea. I was thinking of more of a spider kind of thing 2 pair of legs moving on each side to allow for normal turning and have the "feet" have suspension to allow for uneven terrain. I would suggest that you mount a piece of glass or some other kind of see through block in front of the driver to act as a targeting reticle because the player head will move independent of the driver seat.

Scrapman has a similar vehicle, but it is forward-facing on a car and can't aim up or down, and can a absolutely obliterate red farmbots. The extra mobility of your walker may actually be detrimental, at least without a crosshair, because you don't know if you are shooting level.

Kan, I've been watching your vids for a little over a year now, your builds are unreal and fantastic, if it can be done, kan can do it or has already done it. Walker mech suit is awesome, I watched the Walker race video, was hilarious. Definitely need a fixed point on the front of the cab to use as a site, would help with the accuracy and efficiency of spuds, maybe mount the spud gun on the front of the cab instead of underneath and just to keep your backside safe, add a saw blade cause the haybots and smaller bots seem to steer clear of saws, running or not. One last suggestion or idea to possibly implement, thrusters to fly, cant be a mech without thrusters to fly lol love your content, do what you do and keep it up

Suggestion, add a central spud gun that fires maybe 1 every 10 ticks, fires maybe 4-5 shots before then engaging the quad shot. Use those first few shots as a range/tracer/targeting setup, If you release the trigger it resets to the beginning of that cycle so the next attempt still only fires the central slow. I don't know the logic to make it work but im sure you can figure it out, so you don't waste a bunch of shots figuring out your aim, and you might take out the smaller bots w/o it switching into the quad.

This is the best thing I've seen on scrap mechanic. Could you drop it one block, take away the turret flip option, and put a wheel in the middle that hits the ground when the vertical pistons are closed to give it that extra up hill thrust?

12:20 OH NO! lmao. from what i remember reading warehouses take like 30 in game days to respawn. someone on reddit had a mini tank in the warehouse, was pretty cool. as long as it fits in the elevator you can take it. would be good to put some kind of armor on it though so you don't get blown up by red bots. it's a shame sensors can't be told what to detect, otherwise having a auto turret on top would be pretty insane!

@@whwhwhhwhhhwhdldkjdsnsjsks6544 still sooo much to do. they will also need to do a optimization pass or two. the game is already at a point where things becomes a slideshow even doing what's in the game now. i hope they get there but i wont hold my breath. most simulation type games always have these limits. nothing short of rewriting the entire game from the ground up can fix these kinds of issues. a game like Oxygen Not Included is a amazing game but the limits of the systems they made for the game at the time really hold it back. by the time you get to mid game you already are sitting below 60 fps and by late game you are in the 20s. feels so bad because the game again is amazing, it's just the tech at the time wasn't up to par. that same game if made with today's tech from the same engine would be able to have 6 of those worlds running with 200+ fps no problem. it's insane how fast tech progresses. anyway i hope SM is able to figure it out. it's a long tiresome road that never ends.

Here's what I think you need to do. Put the guns straight in front of the first person camera and make some sort of aiming reticle. The legs can have sideways wheels on free bearings so they can spin you, and have the forward friction. You also need a single spudgun for sniping far away so you waste less spuds. I would say thruster jetpack but that's too difficult and would cost way too many resources. If you make it larger you can add an ejector seat using spudguns and cardboard. And finally you need a bigger potato farm if you wish to continue with the spud gun hijinks.

Put a large chest on it for more spud power. Because large chests hold more spuds. You can also use a controller hooked to the seat in place of the electric engine. You can also put one spud gun in an or gate with a button so you can choose to only fire one round for ammo conservation.

You should definitely put something around the front window/opening to use for targeting, like a fake crosshair, or at least something to focus your actual crosshair on to help with aiming. That aside, this is absolutely sick.

Once the warehouse is cleared it stays that way. No respawns, no bots, no loot. It becomes a playground for your explosives :)

Why not cactusplant on the feet for maximum grip so you dont slide anymore? Edit: You explain it at 10:00 ... Didnt watch completely lol

I think the only downside of the Doom Duck to kill Boss-bots is that the recoil from the Spud Anihilator tilts your craft down. So your aim goes off. Haha
