I can confirm, automated farms are mesmerizing, my first one that takes like friggin 7,5minutes to plant a 100 crops was a total feast to the eye with (too) many moving parts, making a new one now and i keep just standing around looking at it run, forgetting i was supposed to debug something during the run etc xD Also, if you need a use for your excess seeds, remember they added the ability to craft them into fertilizer, if not one of those crops id still suggest you save the seeds, combined with a chest a pump and a button/switch they can be used for wireless data transmission :D

@@sammiller2817 Aim a chest with vacuum pump to a 3x3/4x4/etc pad of buttons in the distance, button attached to pump, seeds in chest, press the button to have the seed press the remote buttons ^^ If you build your (semi or fully) automated farm near your base you can use this to start/stop your farm from the comfort of your base ^^ (also with a spudgun, but most people have a surplus of seeds, so cheaper ^^)

I set up 4 vacuums in front of each packer slot. Now I just drop the chest off of whatever fruit or veggie and put the crates on my truck as they come. Makes things a bit easier and faster. Also would like to see a tall maybe suspension glitch vehicle that drives along the sea floor as you sit on top of it all above the water

Kan, make a "Seed disposal". Take a large chest, and 2 vacuum pumps. Set them up on a timer loop. It will "shoot" the seeds you put into it into the ground/sky/whatever and they are wasted.

The way me and my friend got around having too laggy of a farm with pistons/timers was to make a cart on a rail that we would drive. Has a sensor system to spray water/vacuum. To reset it, you weld the pipe for the water refill so the car charges each day. We need to add a seeding system still but haven't played in a couple weeks. We can plant 400ish plants right now, and its very easy expandable. We put our base on a road so we have a brush free straight away to drive our car over. The waves are a little laggy still on co-op, but I don't think that was a farm size issue, as you could get big spawning waves with smaller farms. Imo the biggest problem with big farms tho is the vacuum storage for all the seeds. If you could filter items like satisfactory, we could put the seeds back into a seeds hopper, but our car is getting heavier as we add more storage

I absolutely love the idea of farmable trees! Maybe it could be like birch tree farming so the harvests aren't overpowered, but would be very effective at a large scale. I would personally love to see a way to scrap totebot heads in survival, though. The amount of green farmbot heads that go to waste that have valuable circuitry and metal inside of them is staggering. If bashing the farmbot head pieces with a hammer yielded something like an extra component kit, or maybe even stage 1 metal, that would be amazing.

Kan, talking about waves, waves are triggered at 4:30 am when we recieve the notification "unauthorised farming detected ". This notification is recieved at exact 4:30. So 4:31 is best time to farm in order to avoid waves because that unauthorised farming detected thing doesn't get detected.

On your left set of seed shooters, you should add a 1-tick timer before they shoot. It'll eliminate the problem where both seed shooters try to shoot the same seed, and you end up with an empty farm tile.

Maybe it can limit the engine level too, like if you want to crank the engine power to max it need 3 panels, maybe it can slowly generate bateries if connected to a container and opperate the vehicle run on battery power during the night.

Hey Kan, in Beta 0.4.6 seeds can now be used to make fertilizer.

you know you can always get a tier one raid no matter what grade of plant you plant. All you do is plant 10 of the Tier one crops wait for a few seconds and you will get the "unauthorized farming" warning. Then plant the remainder of your crops you will then have until between 3:30 and 4:00 the next day to harvest them. I have pulled 100 of the pineapples and broccoli off in one harvest and only had to fight 2 totebots. Also fertilize your higher tier crops and they will be ready in one day. Also In reply to your question I would like to see a way to remove grass and the unremovable small shrubs. Yes they are just decorations and have no hitboxes but having a garden full of grass and flowers or my driveway with a tree in the middle of it are annoying. An addendium to that of course is a way to add small amounts of changes to the terrain. not just adding blocks but a way to level or remove small bumps and holes.

Im Fox Way I was thinking you could use bearing and controllers and the top rotates. You could also have a block from the front wall of the trailer rotate out to act as a support. If you did this when you could place the crates on the top (which would be folded down so the top is facing toward the outside when folded down) in the correct orientation without having to get up on the lift.

I really hope they don’t take this approach for other resources, specifically glue and oil. The fun of the game is making creations that Serve a purpose, Right now that’s limited to tree eaters, miners and farm defenses. If planting new crops attracted new bots, like if cotton attracted a bot that could climb, or farming embers attracts bots with flamethrowers, you would need to change your defenses. This would also create a choice, make a vehicle to harvest things or make a more complicated defense. As for vehicles, the next update needs to be a water update, with a way to build a clam harvester and an oil harvester on a vehicle, so you need to build a boat with a crane or a submarine. This means they need to add a scuba seat and a propeller. Growable glue would be nice if it attracted different bots, maybe ones that spawn in the water.

Random thought about the hitch you're using. I built one with a sensor on the trailer, on the hitch rod. Pointed backwards, it triggers when the lock bar is slid into place, and retracts the legs.

IDK if you know, but if you connect your Craftbot Output Chests to the Input chest, the system will use all chests as input - so you don't need to check where the item is inside your chests, just craft it. You can connect with vacuum pipes.

Embers should be growable, but they should attract bots with flamethrowers so you actually need to make different defenses instead of the raids being the same. Also, cotton should attract climbing bots.

There are 2 tiers of crops, beets/carrots/tomatoes/potatoes/oranges/bananas/blueberries are tier 1, and pineapples and broccoli are tier 2. Each crop has a value, tomatoes/carrots/tomatoes have a value of 1, potatoes have a value of 1.5, oranges, blueberries and bananas have a value of 2 and broccoli and pineapples have a value of 3. The waves are calculated based on the total value of the crops and how many tier 2 crops are planted. No wave is generated if the total crop value is lower than 10 (ie. planting 9 carrots will not generate a raid). When the total crop value is equal to or higher than 10, this is when you get the unauthorized farming warning. The waves are generated based on value increments of 10 (ie. 10-19, 20-29, 30-39 etc.). There are also multiple night raids that get slightly more difficult each night if you continue to plant crops of the same total value continuously (ie. you plant, harvest, then immediately replant, rinse and repeat). It takes a lot less of the tier 2 crops to generate higher-level raids, and they will always contain multiple totebots and haybots.

I want 3 things before anything else. 1. Optimize the game. It feels more like I'm playing a frame rate management game than a survival building game. I should be able to have my vehicles on the ground without the game dropping from 200+ frames down to 15. Plus every time the game does drop frames, my pistons all go crazy and break my creations. 2. Welding things to structures attached to the ground. I don't know how many times I've had to detach my wall, and even my entire base, because I couldn't weld two pieces together without putting everything on the lift first, which of course caused severe frame rate drops, all the way down to 1fps. 3. locking creations. Especially bases. I can't count how many times I've accidentally deleted entire walls, floors, or cut my base in half, while trying to harvest crops or build something, because blocks are insta-delete. Let us craft an item that can be placed on a creation to "lock" it so that its blocks and parts can't be accidentally deleted. I even lost an entire vehicle because I accidentally deleted the drivers seat causing the car to take off in a random direction with a full tank of gas. I never found it again.

Instead of making beds disposable they should add a debuff on respawn. 1-3 mins of reduced move speed or make it reduced till your health reaches 100% again. I think they should make it so chemicals are flammable and turn water cannons into liquid cannons that fire either water or fire. They just added the chem chests so thats already ready to go. It would be cool to be able to use fire to refine scrap metal in an AOE rather than shaving it while your out and about but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. A weapon like this with an AOE would be great for aerial defense if they add any hover drone farm bots. Hover drone bots that portray crop testers/rubbish collectors therefore can't be used offensively but they can cause pistons and bearings in an AOE to slow down. So during a raid with them they would bypass walls and find pistons and traps to slow down. Also could block or hinder sensors. If they also picked up items off the ground they could keep our worlds clean and lag free. The refinery bots should be upgradeable to be more efficient so a little more material is produced at each level and at higher speeds of processing. Drivers seats should have an option to assign buttons to the "wasd"! Bots should be counted as PAINTED OBJECTS and trigger the colour sensors!!! This means we could have colour coded traps to deal with diff types of bots. Some sort of motion tracking system /turret bearing block. for eg 3x3x3 block with a single connection in the middle of each face. Connect a lvl 5 sensor(s) to anything articulated from it to give it "sight" in an arc of a certain size and range. Have it able to track movement within its field of vision. Any side thats connected to it counts as a bearing connection in either the horizontal or vert and is used to mount weapons with the ability to lock a bearing if needed. This isn't OP as it can only track one thing at a time and multiple might track the same bot. This block should also be allowed to connect to a drivers seat as a button toggle so you can swap driving from the vehicle to an individual turret just by pressing that as a button from the seat. Again not OP as this means you can't drive while using a turret it just means you don't have to dismount a vehicle to do multiple jobs. Crafting of such a part should require actual parts as well as basic mats like bearings, logic gates, comp kits. Upgradable for faster trackng and longer range. Sensors connected can be painted specific colours so it tracks specific bots and ignores others. Again this would be great for defense if we had to shoot down hover drones.

If you're planting a lot of high tier fruit you should plant like 10 carrots, then once it says there is a raid you could plant 1,000 pineapples and it would be a 10 carrot raid

Question, is this update to the main branch or experimental branch? And have the oil/glue changes been implemented yet as well?

@@zZSkarbogZz good to know. I would always appreciate it if when a video comes out about an update if they specify if it's experimental and or when it comes to main branch. I'm excited to play with some friends soon, but I want to wait until at least the oil/glue adjustments come out officially.
