G Day Lance, playing catch up a bit here, great news about the business, nearly time for the next chapter of the adventure, retirements great, you get loads of time for your kids to give you more jobs to do for them, My Dad used to say "I don't know where I found time to go to work" I always thought it wasa daft saying , till I retired then I knew exactly what he meant. great video, great news, keep up the great job. Well done Lance, glad it worked out OK with the sale, I also retired a couple of years ago, seem to be working more now than I did when working, but on things I enjoy and want to do, not things I have to do, so hopefully this will be the case for you also, enjoy 😊

Commutators, back 45 years at Ag College we were taught in vehicle electrics those generating a current ( dynamo/generator ) under cut, those receiving a current ( starter ) do not.

Lance - The Americans measure their JIC / ORS Adapters & Hoses in Tube Dash sizes. Australians and the Brits measure their JIC / ORS Adapters & Hoses in Thread sizes. JIC 7/16 = - 4 Manages to confuse everybody - best way to avoid confusion - buy a Aeroquip, Gates or Parker Thread Identification Kit that fits in your pocket.

Hi Lance from Tasmania. I'm a rewinder and electrical mechanic and you should undercut the micer as it will not wear as the rest of the commutator does. and a small chamfer on the sides of each bar will reduce Arking as well. The shape of the brushes is not so critical when it comes to the shape of the commutator.

Those fittings would tell a story or two, but also shows the sign of the times, running through full diagnostic procedures before rebuilding components it’s a throw away society now.

Congratulations on selling the business. Retirement is a good job to have. Flow meter work is a job on its own, now I know where to come if I need help in that department. "Sound" is ok this end, just saying. Anyway, keep up the good work Lance.

I've watched many shed organising videos, and none of them have stuck for me really. Anyway my research tells me to always allow 20 minutes or so at the end of the shed session for putting stuff away and "Always Be Knolling" actually that does work well, It isn't really much tidier it just looks a lot tidier 😬
