Starters are usually much easier to get in wonder/surprise trades because people breed them for trading; perhaps moreso than for shinies, abilities, natures or moves.

I came up with an idea to see if I can get a complete pokedex by just doing tera raids and wonder trading. Tera raiding as well to speed it up a wee bit and ensure I can actually offer decent pokemon up for trade. So not catching any pokemon myself (apart from the lechonk you have to catch). I'd have to double check, but if I'm right I have passed the 300 mark so far. I am releasing 'trash' (very common pokemon caught in the beginner area where everything has 100% catch rate) and have come across two bots so far (gave me a shiny roaring moon and a shiny slowbro). I feel like bots are not that active (yet)? I think I saw them more often during sword/shield. Edit: also I think that the language you get also depends on the timezone you are in. I am in Europe and gets lots of Chinese and Japanese if I play during the day.

I have been doing a ridiculous number of wonder trades over the past few weeks randomly in a quest to see which starter I should shiny hunt first of three starters (so I can improve the pool for the other starters for people). Totals: 6 Charmander (4 with Blaze and 2 Solar Power) 3 Scorbunny (All with Blaze) 8 Sprigatito (6 with Overgrow and 2 Protean) 4 Fuecoco (All with Blaze) and absolutely ZERO Quaxly!
