what's the difference between ichi and hito tsu and so on ? i need help :

Please tell me one thing! I clearly understand all of things but one thing is confusing for me! Just like we say 9 in jappenese is Kyu' and Ku. This thing i understand but in second line you say KU is kokonotsu! When we use this type of words?
@LearnJapaneseChannel3 ай бұрын
"Kyu" and "Ku" belong to the same group as "Ichi, Ni, San," which are counting methods that came from China. Because they are concise, they are used in situations where accuracy is important. For example, when counting up as "Ichi, Ni, San...Kyu," or when combined with counting units like in "Kyu-ko" (9 items) or "Ku-gatsu" (September). On the other hand, "Kokonotsu" belongs to the same group as "Hitotsu" and "Futatsu," which are the traditional Japanese ways of counting. These give a softer impression and don’t need to be combined with counting units, so they’re often used when ordering something that’s intangible or when the quantity is vague. For example: "Please give me nine coffees." (using "Kokonotsu") "Please come up with nine ideas." (using "Kokonotsu") Well, since "Kokonotsu" is a large number, it’s not used as often, but words like "Futatsu" and "Mittsu" are used frequently.

I am still confused to when we use the onyomi or the kunyomi reading of a Kanji, any tips?
@LearnJapaneseChannel4 ай бұрын
It's very difficult because there are no clear rules, right? Please refer to the following if you find it helpful. ①If hiragana follows a kanji, that kanji is 100% kun'yomi . ②If there is only one kanji, it is most likely kun'yomi . (Numbers are an exception) ③If there are two or more kanji together, they are most likely on'yomi. (Note that there are many exceptions to points ② and ③, so consider these as general tendencies.)
@LearnJapaneseChannel4 ай бұрын
In any case, the most important thing is to be able to read and understand each word. You will never be asked in daily life or on tests whether a reading is on'yomi or kun'yomi. Therefore, rather than trying to memorize which reading is on'yomi and which is kun'yomi, it might be most efficient to memorize words as a whole. (Example) 一→いち 一つ→ひとつ 一日→いちにち In fact, Japanese people do not consciously think about on'yomi or kun'yomi when reading kanji in our daily lives.

i have a question doesn't "hito" mean person please reply
@LearnJapaneseChannelАй бұрын
'Hito' in Japanese can be translated as 'person' or 'people' in English. 'Hito' can refer to one person, but depending on the context, it can also refer to multiple people. ex. She is a very kind person. 彼女はとても親切な人です。 There are many good people in the world. この世の中にたくさんいい人がいます。
