Kanjozoku is one of the reasons why I got into love with old Civics (specifically the EK9 Type R). Sure, they do illegal public racing which is not right in the eyes of most road users and I STRONGLY DO NOT CONDONING ANYTHING OF IT!! But for me, even though they have this underground scene, you can see them being connected with their machines, not just your typical cutthroat racing shenanigans that only cares about power outputs, speed, numbers, stats, and etc. They're also just a group of most Civic enthusiasts that genuinely love their cars and they're passionate on owning, building and driving it. Just to let you know that Kanjozoku builds like these guys has are literally based on Suzuka Circuit touring/track/time attack builds and most of their vehicles specs are track oriented so that's why they're really versatile and easy to handle on corners due to weight reduction as well (Again, I'm not condoning street racing and you shouldn't do that on public roads, instead, do it on your local race tracks). Anyways, ever since I was a kid, I used to watch touge and time attack racing videos like Hot version, Best motoring, Video option, some of JGTC and JTCC race videos and initial d (yeah, for most western American people who only cares about power, straightline, 0-60 pull cutthroat egotistical and clout chasing racers, Initial D is nothing but a typical cartoon on them, but forget their hate on it when it comes to physics, the whole story of it and blah blah blah. But for me, that anime also shows the beauty of the driver's skills, their genuine dedication to their vehicles, and the pursuit of becoming the best driver they could ever be. It shows the true beauty of a car enthusiast's life. Just you, cruising on the mountains, working on your car, chilling with you friends, racing on other locals during midnight, earning each other's respect, and ofc, even tho it's technically an underground scene, they still acting as professional as they could be and not trying to be an obnoxious typical street racer wannabe. It's just them genuinely playing with each other on their common playground which is mountain passes on late night. They could be early rivals sometimes but eventually it turns into a strong bond and connection to each other. And just to let you know, Initial D is literally based on a real life underground touge racing scene during the early years idk if it's early 60s, 70s, or 80s, but whatever, touge racing was even a thing long before Initial D became popular) Anyways, sorry for this long essay comment, but I just wanna genuinely express my true love into being a car enthusiast especially the love for old Civics like these!!! They may not be fast as your typical supercar like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, or a Nissan GT-R, but for me, there's something with these Civics that makes me feel connected to them and not everyone would be able to understand that. Whenever I see a tastefully modded Civics even with just a simple (but not riced) mods, it takes me back from my early childhood years which is riding with my dad's old EK Civic, cruising on late nights especially on canyon roads, and enjoying the feeling, the sound and authentic vibe of the car. And I was 6 - 8 years old during that time. So yeah, thank you for posting this vid!!!
