I’m honestly suprised this hasn’t got more likes. Very good video indeed. I’m eighteen and own a Hyundai i20. Not exactly the same but pointed me in the right direction and saved me a couple thousand quid😄

I have this exact same model of i10 (just a year younger). Seeing this video has given me a confidence boost when replacing my clutch if it ever needs doing again. I could have saved myself a few hundred quid :D Keep up the great work and excellent videos!

Not so bad for a small motor all looks easy to get to still a good size box to handle though don't need a gym workout in your job 😅I remember some of the struggles I had with the old motors of the 70s another top job nice one 👍

Alister West it was quite a nice little number this one was ... I bet them engines from back then weighed half a ton. The old carburettor... was it mostly inline transmission back then....I wasn’t even born back then Alister 😁😂

@@WMCS mostly in line but it was mostly spanners and hammers too worked for a small family firm for a long time good to work for put me through college for mechanics and bodywork started in nothing more than a tin workshop with a single pit then they had a new build garage that was something else great days enjoy watching your videos you do some excellent work see you on the next one all the best bud 👍

Morris minors vauxhall Victor's cresta's then mini's came on the scene pain in the ass points now you probably know I am well into my 70's but really enjoyed my time pleasure watching you work 👍

Alister West it’s great to hear of your experience from back then. I’ve worked with older mechanics before and spanners definitely gets well used ... Panel beaters is a great art. I’ve always wanted to do vehicle spraying ... I’m hoping it’s something I can move into in later years .... Did you have one of them little oil can in your tool box as well ..😁
@WMCS4 жыл бұрын
Alister West I take it you had to be quite level headed to work on those engines back then I’ve heard many stories on how they needed constant adjustment ... like the valve clearance and like you mentioned the points ... did you have one of them timing lights.

7:57 Doing this too and have all bolts out but gearbox doesn't want to come out. Now, I have snapped that bolt inside the gearbox but it shouldn't be holding it together as it only has threads in the gearbox and the bolt has a smooth shank. Wondered if I'll have a chance for some advice from Kevin if he ever catches this.

I'm enjoying watching you vids. I recently changed the clutch on my Focus, and uncovered a few other issues at the same time (oil leak from turbo, coolant leak), stuff which was much easier tackling at the same time. You must find the same, so wondering what you do - perhaps just tackle the clutch, and advise the customer?
@WMCS4 жыл бұрын
Mark Collins that’s exactly what I do. I have a check sheet and write down all advisories so customers can take it to a local garage. I only specifically just do the clutch
