Manga spoilers ahead! Kobayashi actually absorbed the sword she pulled out of Tohru the night they met, and it would loan her power from time to time. At one point she even TKOs Kanna's dad because of this.

Ya know, something that's always kinda bugged me, especially with the **stellar** animation this show is noted for: Tohru cooks *six* omurices, her coworker sets out *ten* plates, and then *eight* omurices land on *eight* plates. I mean, I'd expect that kind of continuity error from Transformers, maybe even G.I. Joe, but...
