I love the little detail that before Hiro Mashima had a solid concept for Fairy Tail , his first idea was that Natsu should be a courier for a somewhat magical guild. And seeing that concept be implemented for the edolas cast is such a nice reference.

It's very sad to see that earth Natsu doesn't develop at all as a character. How the author presented him at the very beginning: a lover of fighting, eating, sleeping - that’s how he remained. The only type of interpersonal relationship that Natsu enters into is friendship. He believes that human children hatch from eggs (and I don't think that was a joke on his part). It is likely that the author intended to leave it like this for the rest of his life.

The 100 years quest part is made by Hiro Mashima's assistant and as a fan of Fairy Tail, I have to say that I am very dissapointed with the way he "develops" Natsu. He has changed Natsu's characteristics a lot which made him become OOC. In the original story, Natsu may be kind of naive but he's still a gentle man. He really respects women: lend Lucy his clothes and cover her when she accidentally gets naked, protect her and the other female members.... and he's intelligent enough to know where the children came from. It's like this new part has destroyed all Natsu's maturity (character deveopment) that Hiro Mashima built throughout the main story. This even gets worse when it's adapted to anime (for example in the scene when Lucy got burnt to stop Natsu and Natsu suggested to treat by p.e.eing on her, in the manga he just suggested by saying but in the anime, they made him really take off his pant). I have stopped reading the new part as I don't want to see my favorite character being destroyed more day by day, now I just read some chapters that have romance developments while waiting for the ending
