To be fair though - this is a superfast RNG, in which the Sorceress finds a good route and a valuable scepter to turn into mana pots. Sometimes clearing Den Of Evil takes a few minutes, other times 20 minutes.

We used to do this barbarian ironman challenge back in 1.09 classic. No running back or creating new games, you only got each zone once. Started out with slow meticulous clears to maximize loot until people started finding strats and optimizations. Miss that little group of players. Probably could've been fun to watch and make speedruns of if we had the ability to record gameplay the way we do today.

The 40 minutes in that theoretical run was the total time including the loading screens. And it assumed sub-optimal leveling as level 18 was obtained by farming Beetleburst, meaning that all the catacombs and the desert were walked on foot.

finally you uploaded this. i watched it hours after live stream. that could be the best act1. but you don't have the +1 lightning amulet as Bender's 36'32 does, or 327's stealth, so not the best act 4-5. can't really imagine what a sub 35 would require for gear

Hello @kano did you consider to run directly to jail lvl 1 (check setup), and then make quickly den with frost nova? Seems faster and definitely faster to restart if jail 1 fails

It could be worth considering, but the actual fastest strategy in the end will probably be a Den skip entirely that relies on an extra layer of early game RNG (good early gold start, skill shrines, etc.)

Nice run. I remember staying up late when I was kid so that I could take part of early ladder after reset. And I was always wondering how some people already show up level 70ish when I was just starting to search for tomb runs. I guess this video answers this question. Just buy mana and tele and skip everything and use static on every boss. Now put 8 such players in 1 team and no wonder they are doing hell baal runs while normies are still doing tomb runs.

​@@Bacjuszx It's very bad on such low level: Until lvl 22 merc has a Level 5 Prayer aura, that means +3 life per second, not useless but well... A single Greater Potion heals for 7.68 seconds, and it gives to Sorceress (180 life) ~23 life per second and for the Merc (270 life) ~35 life p/second. Because of this low value of prayer, the Defiance aura would prob doe more, for example against a Doom Knight (Act4 Chaos Sanctuary) your merc with the +5 defiance aura would be 20% less likely to be hit ( From 85% to 65% ). The +5 Blessed Aim is a solid +135% AR, that helps the merc a bit to hit mobs above his level, mostly all stuff on the speedrun. In the end of the day, some people will call for the phrase: "The best defense is a good offense".

fair, I think the defense aura might have more use in a speedrun situation. As far as I recall, I may misremember, it was mostly to tank duriel and mephisto to cast static safely. Maybe than 1/2 extra dodge due to increase defense would be preferable to him hitting for little to no dmg@@euklesio

@@volfgang1393 they are a bugged mob type and I believe the 'normal' dark ones that spawn with the champions give 500% XP like a regular elite pack Also this is /players X, so they're done on P8 with a 450% XP bonus
