Best fight in the season as far as show casing real striking maneuvers, gotta hand it to Kaolan for beating a character whose special gift is adapting to any style as the fight goes on. Kaolan just was that many levels ahead of Agito that he could keep changing the flows in a way even the Fang could not keep up with.

The description of Wongsawat's style is incorrect. Wongsawat uses the Muay Thai style called Muay Mat(Heavy Punches/Low Kicks). Kaolong's honorable character thru the writing cost him this fight. He let up on Agito several times to where he could have overwhelmed him after stunning him. Despite him being considered the best boxer in the Kengan world, he never used any feints, guard pulls or angle changes to get around Agito's guard nor the Thai clinch after he starting using Muay Thai techniques. He caused his own injury by repeatedly battering Agito's high guard. In boxing, a fighter has to find a way around the opponent's guard(hooks overhands and angle changes,) split it(vertical straights and uppercuts) and/or change levels or feint to do any to draw the opponent out. He didn't attempt to do neither which can be attributed to the writer's ignorance of boxing techniques or assurance that Agito would win. He could have caught Agito with a high kick following after the travel path of a right cross as many Thai fighters and kickboxers use. Surprised he didn't see thru the dropped guard draw that Agito used either. One should never put anything past the Fang of Metsudo in a fight.

This fight also showcased that a perfectly timed counter by an opponent as much bigger as fang is than gaolang made the difference, most of gaolangs critical hits to the head were expected or not perfectly on the chin, but a hook to the chin when you're full on committing cause you smell the blood, will fuck up your game, the moment he took that the last exchange started and he was off his game add to that the perfectly timed perrrfectly timed wrestling transition and well executed throw to seal the deal Fang just won strategically, with style for anyone who's into mma,he was just the smarter fighter

Kaolan is certainly the best pound for pound pure striker in the Kengan universe, but Kanoh fights with a level of menacing confidence and tenacity only someone completely self-aware they're a 201 cm 128 kg Japanese antihero/pseudo villain archetype in a Japanese manga could carry 😂 He's got that "Yuujirou PAE Swag" (Plot Armour Energy) albeit a less invincible version, given his loss to Kuroki. That's why the duality of Kanoh's archetype weighed against Kuroki's is so striking considering that Kuroki is in many ways Kengan's "Doppo" with a splash of "Kaioh Kaku" for good measure. It has been argued many times that both "Prime" Doppo and Kaku had potential to defeat or even mortally injure baseline Yuujirou, as demonstrated by feats performed against Ogre no one has since been able to replicate. In contrast, Kuroki outright defeated Kanoh. Which leads me back to my qualms with this particular battle between Kaolan and Kanoh. I can appreciate that Yabako Sandrovich (Kengan creator) strongly indicated that while Kanoh "won" the fight, the moral victory was truly Kaolan's, but I honestly feel like it was more of a fan service he was administering given how popular and beloved of a fan favourite Kaolan has become. It seems like Yabako sought to balance making Kanoh win this one, for sake of plot direction, while still making Kaolan make it a war before nobly going out on his proverbial shield to leave room for character growth and character arc development for Kaolan down the road. At least I hope so. It would be a damn waste for Yabako to give Kaolan the nerfed "Kaioh Retsu/Biscuit Oliva Treatment" later. From their fight, we learned that despite a clear size, power, height and weight (and plot armour 😜) advantage, Kanoh cannot match Kaolan strike for strike. On those terms, Kaolan has no equal. The moral victory of Kaolan's is that he deprived Kanoh of the pride of being able to beat Kaolan at his own game, on his own terms. Ultimately, Kanoh had to resort to grappling takedowns and a soccer kick to a downed Kaolan to achieve the win. It's clear what compromise Yabako was going for here, but IMHO it only kind of cheapened the victory and seemed like a cop-out rather than doing Kaolan the justice he deserved. For a character based on a combo of the legendary Nak Muay Changpeuk Kiatsongrit, renown for fighting opponents much larger and stronger than himself, and Samart Payakaroon, the only multiple world Muay Thai champ who was also WBC boxing champion in history, who many consider The GOAT, I just think Kaolan deserves a bit better.

Great analysis except for the prime doppo/kaku part as it was never referenced that either of them at their prime could beat baseline yujiro. Definitely a much younger yujiro but doppo in his prime couldn’t defeat yuchiro so I doubt he’d be able to take yujiro either & kaku in his prime was just a strongman so he would’ve lost very quickly; technically kaku at his current age is his prime due to developing a near perfect defensive style

nothing could have prepared me for how awesome this show was and still is, i had no idea about this or any knowledge of it, gave it a chance and i was hooked instantly, everything about it shocked me in a amazing way, i wasn't expecting the hits to be so satisfying the level of gore/brutality to make me cringe and for the special moves to relate to something IRL just amplified and explained in a way that makes it more tolerable and not super outrageous/unbelievable, every fighter in the tournament is amazing 100%, always the main character has to win, but i dont know about this one theres alot of fighters with the potential to win the tournament i thought for sure it has to be the main,but not in this show,im nervous about the next season i know its gonna be amazing, but almost every remaining fight someone has to lose and theyre all favourites at this point,except agito hes a beast,but im pissed about the kaolang situation,this show needs more recognition,people are so hesitant to watch this when i suggest/mention it, its a hidden gem,(im not a anime fan at all)everyone knows/heard of baki but no one knows of kengan ashura10/10 i hope gensai kuroki or sen hatsumi wins the tournament🙏(if someone replies please no spoilers🤞)
