This was just nice and adorable. Grandma, Haruka, and Kotori really carried the story with how they basically set up this relationship between the MC and Akane. If not for them then Akane wouldn't have been able to confess her love. Akane was even self-aware of her attitude, but MC still liked her all the same. And now thanks to that they are together, both as a couple and as coworkers at the bathhouse. Though Haruka and Kotori might cause a harem situation in the future. Unless Akane straightened them out before the end.

Haruka and Kotori's plan was really risky. In fact, if Senpai started flirting with them, things could end very badly. Akane could have been shocked and ran away crying. Senpai wouldn't have chased after her having 2 morsels wrapped around her arms. At that point even if the 2 had reached Akane and told their plan, their friendship could have been ruined or in any case greatly damaged. Another thing that could go wrong is that Akane hadn't reacted, that for various reasons she hadn't revealed her feelings, now aware of having lost him. What would the 2 do? Continued courting him? Or would they go back to "normal", and make the boy think that they was just teasing him? Or she could reveal her feelings but not be reciprocated. Or even worse that she preferred one of the 2 friends present there. So either Haruka and Kotori were somehow sure that Senpai could reciprocate Akane or they gambled..
