That tree at 7:38 is a species of tree fern from the Cyatheaceae family probably from the genus cyathea.Used to be found along Kerala's midlands too, in the hilly uplands of the once gregarious lowland seasonal rainforests before they were cleared for agriculture in my memory. Very ancient and a few too species are close to extinction. But many species are quite common in montane and submontane habitats such as the one you are trekking though.
