Between these and the vanatoo t1e, in a living room scenario, which has more defined and prominent vocals? This is most important to me because they will be used often for TV shows and movies, and the fact that I won't have a center channel makes me really concerned about clear dialogue that stands out from other sound effects
@timschutte69245 жыл бұрын
, if your gonna spend $600 bucks on a set of powered speakers, I would go with a pair of JBL ARENA 130s and a SMSL SA 98 amp. Much better and it's only $400 bucks. Then you could get a powered subwoofer like the BIC F-12. Then your really gonna have a much better system. It comes out to about $630 bucks total. Just saying
@BrianBolhofner5 жыл бұрын
@@timschutte6924 I hear you. That's how I'd prioritize. But I have yet to hear the new generation of self-powered, digital crossovered, pre-dsp fixed speakers. I suppose if you want to start a system with exclusively that kind of speaker, vocal clarity would be a good criterion for the first pair.
@mattrismatt5 жыл бұрын
@@timschutte6924 With a massive wave-guide, the JBL ARENA 130s will likely present a larger sound-stage, but they will not provide "more defined and prominent vocals". Great review, just to make sure: I shouldn't use LFE mode on a sub with the TUKs, right? How are the Tuk's for you? Some people say they're colder, and thin they'd be better for producing music than enjoying music, but the acoustics of their rooms were obviously really bad, and I have spent more soundproofing my room than on the sound system itself (a5 and s8, but the A5's are aging out, and the Tuk's are at the top of my list) which i imagine effects how the decay is received.
@H4GRlD Жыл бұрын

For me everything is just clearer there's so much more resolution to the Treble. Mids and Bass are soooo huge for these size speakers. Some people find them harsh which probly comes down to them not placing them right. When you get these positioned for your listening area the imaging to me seems out of this world. I use them as my desktop speakers with Kanto's own stands. Also with my A5+ i also ended up buying AE's DAC which cost me quite a bit too. With these you definitely don't need the DAC. @@Xeltos thanks for the detailed reply! Really helpful, seems to hard to find normal peoples reviews on this speaker. That's almost exactly what I wanted to hear. I was a bit worried some people said they were harsh/thin/light on bass. But I'm a long time fan of the ultrasone headphone sound which people call fatiguing and lacking bass too. But one thing I really like about them is that they're super detailed and with very well defined, punchy bass, rather than bloated rumbling bass. Think those had aluminium or titanium drivers so maybe they have the same characteristics. Sounds like these may be similar which would suit me great. Already have passive bookshelfs but I want these for a computer desk set up and the functionality is very persuading...but because they'll be used for long hours the fatiguing comments make me pause. How do these compare with the YU4 or YU6's? I like that sound, but wish for just a touch more brightness and loudness... anyone?

Hey zeos, how the does dac amp in these compare to the k3 dac amp? Not too worried about volume as I only use iems and the k712 pro, just quality wise
@ZReviews5 жыл бұрын
High sensitivity IEMs I'd probably use the K3 or something more dedicated

Z Reviews thanks for the help, I wanted to simplify my setup and these would do the trick nicely if that wasn’t the case, guess I’ll just keep both and deal with the cable spaghetti ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Stick a small piece of black electrical tape over that blue LED on your monitor. I had to do that on my Pioneer TV. Tape is unnoticeable and no annoying blue light.

I have another question, i have the Kanto Sub 8 as i said in my previous comment, it has both R/L channel but the TUK's have the single out. Would i benefit at all from getting a splitter? The manual for the Sub 8 says you can use either the left or right channel, so i assume i could just use the cable i already have.

After watching this is decided to pull the trigger to find something more compact for my office instead of my LS50s / Sprout 100. These did not fit that bill. They sound good (not even close to LS50 good, but decent), but after about 30 minutes even at a lower-medium volume they were very fatiguing. I had to take the treble down so much they sounded flat, even that was still fatiguing. Maybe my ears just didn’t like the tweeter on this, but they got shipped back today 👎🏻 I think they are overpriced for what they provide sound wise.

@@RyanZNO How is the sprout? I'm debating between it and a NAD3045
@RyanZNO4 жыл бұрын
@@ynnadk9859 definitely go with the sprout if you like a more balanced sound. I found the NAD 3045 sounded harsh, not as full bodied. I’m probably not the best at describing this, but the sprout always has a pleasing tonality no matter what you’re listening to.

They are beauty but probably won't be availbe in Poland, and shipping would kill profitability and warranty. So... Edifier S3000 Pro would work on desk? In next two months will finish saving moneys for these, but i'm still not sure. They need to work on 21m2 room for movies too.
