Bought the T1 years ago after coming across some crazy guys hilarious review on KZbin. Ive had the T1 everywhere in my house from living room to the bedroom( not Loud enough for these rooms) but finally found that they work best as desktop speakers using the USB out connection from my iMac. Love them and see no need to upgrade. Yes, the T1 has a subwoofer output. I have the cherry wood version and they look amazing with the cover on.

I have these. I talked with Gary at Vanatoo about the hard-wired power cord and they told me they struggled with an appropriately consistent external power brick and up until the release, they couldn't find what they required so they took ownership of the quality and put it in the speaker. All I can say is these are INCREDIBLE. I also have the Vanatoo Transparent Zero and the Transparent One Encore are such a different speaker and they fill a different need and niche. For a desk speaker, they are phenomenal. Don't require a sub.

Hey, I would like to ask your for your advice regarding the Vanatoo Tranparent Zero v One Encore. Assuming they are priced at 300$ and 500$, would the One Encore be worth the added 200$? I am currently looking for a desktop speaker but I wouldn't mind the ability to use it later as a living-room/home-theatre type speaker. I'd appreciate it if you could you give me your opinion on the differences between them.
@chrischillbilly3 жыл бұрын
@@albertsoliz7018 I only have the zeros but upgraded from audio engine A2 and Samson Rubicon 2.1 ribbon studio monitors + sub. I sold everything once I got the zeros for desktop use. I feel I can mix audio on them as much as I can enjoy music on them. If you plan on using them in a living room at one point, you can just get a sub for an amazing (and compact) 2.1 system. If you have room on your desktop for the T1, might as well go for it - even if you need stands. The zeros are unbeatable for desktop use and especially for their size. You can always easily add a sub for desktop use. As good as the A2's were, it's night and day. This being said, I actually look forward to the day I may have the need to also add the T1's. I feel that the zeros are like compact desktop kef ls50's

YES! I had to burn mine in as well. I even called Vanatoo and after discussing the situation, I had to reset the sub output and then it was incredible. Do yourself a favor and get the ISO Acoustics stands for these. They make a big difference in grounding the low end. If not my desk literally vibrates. Literally.

Based on your review I purchased a pair of these Vanatoo T1 Encores last year. Today I moved them out of the main listening room an into the loft office. After much use I find them to be a disappointment. The most annoying part is the exceptionally weak remote control. I have to press the volume buttons about 10 times to get the primary speaker to respond (amber light) (Yes, I checked the battery, it was fine). Next is the muddled sound in the mid to high ranges making the vocals suffer. Finally, these speakers color the sound to make it softer and warmer; not desirable. I replaced these T1 Encores with Adam Audio A5Xs, which are are head and shoulders better. Yes, they are $1K a pair but I paid $600 for these Vanatoos and wish I saved that money to buy the A5Xs.

You explained the "phisical DAC" sort-of right, but actually these amplifiers have nice filters on each individual output (nice big inductors and capacitors), and those are the "DACs" :) the output signal on these (in a good scenario) is as analog as any other output on any other DAC or amplifier, you can eg. measure it with an instrument (without any phisical mass). BUT what you said is generally true to any Digita-to-Analog converters, because the mass of the drivers eliminates the individual steps between each samlpe's corresponding voltage, and "smoothens" the sound out. (I think, with a very fast driver, and without any filtering, a bat could hear the 44.1kHz sampling noise) :) (Sorry for my terrible english :D ) PS.: I love my SMSL Q5 Pro! Same full digital signal path.

The confusion lies in the fact that it's not "digital" though that's a close approximation... It's not sending ones and zeros, but it is doing a lot of square wave pulses. I think there may be a filter involved too, so it's also smoothing out that square wave.

The two speaker enclosures are the same size. Certainly these are similar to the Vanatoo Zeros: the non-powered speaker has a dummy/ fake electronics box with damping material...same size, shape, and volume as the real electronics box on the powered speaker, in order to keep the same enclosure tuning and outside dimensions. There is a weight difference -- the powered unit weighs about 12 lbs, the passive about 11 lbs, due to no electronics.

Me too. I can't decide between Swan M300, Edifier S3000Pro, and Vanatoo T1E. I wish Z was able to get the Swan M300MKii (mark 2 version of the M300) as it's now a 3-way design plus has a ribbon tweeter. From all the videos I've seen, I'm leaning towards the Swans on pure sound quality with the T1Es in 2nd and the S3000Pro 3rd. The S3000Pros sound a little V-shaped on videos like they're "thin" yet dynamic and punchy while the M300s sound great in all areas and apparently have incredibly fast/tight bass, while the T1E may have a unique sound because they're sealed but I also heard they don't sound as luscious and "hi-end" as the Swans but I want to know what their bass is like compared to the Swans. I can't freakin decide.

@KALTBLUTWOLF15 жыл бұрын
Interesting that you talked about the problem with active speakers and subs since I am in exactly this dilemma right now. I want to get a new 2.1 setup. I kind of settled on the Swan M300 and the SVS PB-3000. Problem is that the Swans are active speakers with either digital or RCA analogue input. The SVS has only RCA analogue input. I thought about using it's 80 Hz high pass filter and send that filtered signal to the speakers. How would I go about setting these up? The sub wants a pre amped signal according to it's manual. I guess the speakers don't like an amped signal since they are active speakers. So, as I see it I can either go into the sub with a weak DAC output and then into the speakers or buy a preamp/DAC-preamp combo but would the speakers like that? You mentioned the MiniDSP but that would only help if the sub would not have a high pass filter, right? Luv u all :*
@ZReviews5 жыл бұрын
The miniDSP HD helps you if you are sending Analog into your speakers. Because it has a volume control via IR there you just set any remote. You can also just control source volume in foobar2k etc. But you would be leaving the speakers at their max volume as well as the sub and doing all the dancing in the miniDSP
@ChrisJohnson-kh4gw4 жыл бұрын

Same. Did you decide with one?
@halversonea3 жыл бұрын
@@DaBigMook not quite. I decided to get the T0s temporally and then move them to my office once I figure out what I want in the living room. I've defiantly decided to go with passive speakers at this point though to have more upgrade options. Leaning towards an integrated amp and Klipsch RP500m but we'll see. The T0s don't disappoint though and I'm sure the T1s would be even better. I had to change a few settings to get them right and break them in for a few weeks but they're great and sound much bigger than they are.
@halversonea3 жыл бұрын
@@DaBigMook To elaborate a bit further - after reading more reviews I was getting the impression that The Sixes would be best for a home theatre where vocals are important, the T1 Encores would be best for accuracy, and the TUK has the best looks and still sound great but aren't quite as accurate as the T1s or as lively as the Sixes. Also the aluminum drivers that Vanatoo uses definitely have an "off" sound at a very specific frequency. If you tap the bottom of a beer can and hear that "aluminum" noise that's the frequency I'm talking about and you can really hear it in some dialogue. It's not bad, it's just not "transparent" either. I'd still say it's overall more accurate than the various Klipsch speakers I've owned which really color the sound. Overall I'm very happy with them and would buy them again.

I think you are a bit wrong, Z. It doesn't send short impulses to the driver, it has a class D amp that outputs a sine wave. "Direct digital" means that instead of a usual dac they have a PWM processor that gets digital signal and sends PWM signal to the class D amp. It's the same tech that, for example, AD18 or LSR305 use (they probably use shittier components though). I must say, there are products that work exactly like you described, but they are not very common (the only thing I can remember are some BT audio-technica headphones).
