I have two Kanwrite Heritage, one in dual tone orange black and other in solid blue. I think medium nib writes more like fine in my experience. I have also separate nib combos of broad regular, broad architect and broad stub from Kanwrite. I think this pen fulfills all departments( build, writing experience) to the satisfaction level at the price point..very good choice for beginners/ regular writers

They just have some built quality issues which frankly they should sort out. They can all be fixed at very little cost and it would make Kanwrite with its nibs a real goto pen maker.

@@fountainpentherapy is it the finishing part that is the more serious issue or whether the plastic can break easily/not durable is also the issue..

I love what you say about finding pens at an affordable price that you can love to use. I recently found a Jinhao 82 for $5, and it is a great writer!

I agree. I have six in EF, which are really more like a fine. I also have five in M, which I would consider to be more a broad. Wonderful writers. Six pens for under $30 aud with converters? Bargain

they are very comfy (Well, sailor designed it...) and I hope they also stay in one piece after a year or two of use. I got 4 with different nibs, fitted one with a $4 Naginata off AliExpress and the other I welded a second layer for and made into a wet cross concord, the feed kept up well!

Just discovered your channel. Nice review, but you are probably too generous 😂. Kanwrite manufactures excellent nibs, but their finishing is second class. Best pens in India are made by Lotus, Ranga, and Vazir. Then comes ASA, Woodex, PLP, Gama and Click, which are not as costly as the first graders, but their finishes are nice. Just a few suggestions since I find Indian pens do not receive much attention. Unfortunately, most of these companies do not have websites or non functional ones, so you have to contact them personally unless they are available at your place.

Stay tuned. I ordered a bunch of pens from Kanwrite and I will give you my verdict soon thereafter. But I am a big fan of Ranga and Vazir. Lotus is on my list but I find they are overpriced. I also am very curious about delmoon. Asa, click and gama have too many issues

Ciao Vincenzo! I also like the colour combo, here's what I know' to complete the picture... 1. The plastic is based on some kind of organic byproduct, they usually call it "Vegetal Resin", and it does stink on some of the Indian-made pens. I stick them in a box with sodium bicarbonate powder (the stuff you drink for acid reflux or baking powder) and if the smell persists, you can try dunking it in old ground coffee, it may not suck out the smell, but it might make it smell nicer :) If the smell is especially prominant when you open the pen (does the section unscrew?) it may be the oil used for the piston. you may want to wash the piston and barrel thoroughly and use silicone instead. on Noodler's it's 70-80% of the smell issue. 2. The Kanwrite factory make mostly semi-flex nibs, seems like what you got. it's cute but only for the occasional flex. I would not try to practice copperplate with those :) 3. That feed is definitely ebonite, it's very porous so shimmer does tend to get stuck in it but it is easy to clean. I have one that looks very similar in a Noodler's Tripletail. It had no issue with reasonable shimmer for me, like in Herbin or Diamine, it seems the first ink you used had a higher concentration of shimmer, maybe fill this pen without shaking the bottle too much ahead of filling. 4. it's possible that the very lubricated Kon Peki is indeed too runny for this pen, try drier inks, or tighten the tine gap, or maybe set the feed, but since you don't seem to like doing that, I say start with changing the ink :) That's it, I hope something of all of this helped!

Got Emperor, Heritage and Desire from Kanwrite. Could not smell anything (did not bring it upto my nose). A bit of oil/grease (if u feel it) is the silicon grease (obviously dosen't have smell).

This pen is fitted with an ebonite feed. That is an ebonite feed on the pen on review. Got one.

@@fountainpentherapy AFAIK, Kanwrite does not provide a 'broad flex nib'. They provide 'fine flex' as standard and 'medium flex' on demand. U probably got a medium flex. Do give some feedback on this pen to Kanwrite directly. Have interacted with Mr. Awasthi a few times.... he listnes. Try a dryer ink with the pen in review. If some glitter/shimmer/monster sheen fan wants to write, they can never go wrong with a dip pen (glass/metal). *I am new to fountain pens, but have done a reasonable amount of studying/watching...pens n inks. Cheers

Nobody uses glitter ink in fine workmanship pens. Issue is the application of glitter ink which any Nibmiester will tell you never to use. Nothing wrong with the pen. An excellent product

I agree that shimmering ink can be problematic. Buyer beware.

Need glitter, monster sheen... use dip ink pen.
