I found this idea that the split in society is delineated (both in time and story) by the ancient Greek vs. the classic religions. This would place the science vs. religion battle further back than I had previously heard articulated. Any sources for this?
@BrethrenOfUlster5 жыл бұрын
The split does go further back, but it’s not science vs religion or pagan classics vs Christian classics, ultimately. Those paper battles are symptoms of the deeper split: between ways of thinking and living that pridefully put man, nature, gods in the image of nature and men, etc. - created things - first, and those ways of living and thinking that humbly put the Creator first. The lines of that battle cut across those of the false battles of pagan v Christian classics, religion vs science, etc, just as the line between good and evil cuts across every human heart. There is a source for that ultimate split: Satan’s fall. Christ hit the nail on the head in Luke 10:18 and John 8:44; Milton captured something of the poetry of it in Book 1 of “Paradise Lost.”
@marklefebvre57585 жыл бұрын

I've thought about the idea having entertaining fantasy/sci fi stories that relate to Christianity and with Christian protagonists, but I haven't made anything that does yet. Seeing how these protagonist or even an explicitly Christian society would interact with fantastical creatures, or a futuristic world is a very compelling idea to me. This is difficult to conceive of in the modern world, but would be awesome if done right. I probably need more practice writing stories as I'm more proficient in creating visual art at this moment. Please tell us in an obvious way that we can't easily miss when (and if) the comic comes out. fascinating that Jonathan digs Anselm Kiefer --- Kiefer is one of the few modern artists Roger Scruton admits is not horrible Jonathan and Sir Roger are both hybrids: religious conservatives, but also artists (to be an artist one must be small 'p' progressive. An artist who only looks backwards is better described as a reproductionist). I wonder if the attraction to Kiefer has something to do with how he knowingly participates in the decay of our society and culture --- knowingly, yet without glee, without celebration. He shows decadence and decay for what they are: the sacrifice of the beautiful. The sacrifice must proceed, but it can be carried out either with smug self-superiority, or with melancholy and reverence towards the sacrificed. The former is the default position of our time. I see the latter in Kiefer, and perhaps that's what gives him appeal among those who carry a sensitivity to that which is lost.

Jonathan Pageau, every page worth of writing you speak is Au, gold, truth, reality. I now really see the Bible as the most technically scientific book ever written. It has all the patterns of reality. The Bible has a consciousness of it's own that we tap into. In other words, no one gets to the father except thru Christ. The Iconography really brings Christ into being in a more ancient way than writing given that writing is much newer invention than symbology, and therefore more profound.

Many say...”who cares what does it matter?” There isn’t enough time to express why it matters. The best way I can explain to anyone asking this question in a few sentences would be to ask another question as my reply. That question is what harm would there be in raising eagles with pigeons-what damage is done if no one ever tells them the value in and of being an eagle since a bird...is just a bird?” People who are of color are suffering (yes...because of our own rebellion away from The Most High God). So many are scattered and (still) in diverse types bondage, inflicted by self and further deeply perpetuated and seared into our blood by others... I also know that many desire to understand and to see our relevance in this whole story...but most, with popular influence, WONT reflect the truth of who we are...(if they do, I don’t see it much). I am new to your channel and I’m enjoying the content. Please know that I DON’T desire to be controversial at all...I simply ache for “my” people...and I wish that more people with influence would point the world (within context) back to what we mean to it...we are NOT what we’ve become... I hope any of what I expressed makes any sense at all. Thank you for reading this and if there is anywhere I can see pieces or carvings of your art that reflects the true place of people who are of color in this ... please tell me where that is. Thank you Jamee

@@purpleblueblackify Exactly. So why would you reduce the illness by calling him crazy? It's shocking that he does or says xyz bc he's crazy!?! That kind of language is coded to reduce the amount of attention or reflection we should give people.
