I remember 4 years ago I was listening to this song sometime early in the morning, reminiscing about life and what I wanted to achieve. My parents are immigrants from Turkey and have worked their nails off to put me through school, even if it meant missing meals. I promised myself that early morning that I'll pay it forward. Today I received my degree as a civil engineer. It was the first time I had ever seen my father cry. Here I am, laying in bed; at 2:30 am, 4 years later. Nothing is ever promised- our time on this earth is limited, we are all capable of achieving great things. All we have is memories to look back on when those we love part from us to hopefully rest in paradise; let's make it count. Thank you Mr. West for being a part of my story.

I need this kind of Kanye to speak up

Sean Houlker I'm not in that crowd. His "rant" made on the Ellen show was profound and inspirational. At least, that's how I viewed it. My mother too. He was speaking real stuff. I don't need Kanye to rap about bleaching your asshairs... I preferred this one; but I guess it's all about what sells.

Like how do you listen to this son or album and like his new stuff I just don't Kanye was great at one point ,but now he has lost it.
@startervisions11 жыл бұрын
brandon Russell His critical acclaim, fan base, creativity, journalist praise, influence, and sales rise with every album he releases. It's totally fine if you don't enjoy his art anymore, but saying "he has lost it" is subjective. There's facts you need to consider when making a statement on anyone's career. By that I mean, separate your opinion from what's happening. For example, is he my favorite artist alive? No. But he is and has been the most important artist in music of our generation thus far. He's changed the course of hip hop and pop culture countless times, broken many ceiling's of what a rapper can become, and it's only been 10 years. Even his production catalog is at the top, him and Dre have yet to be matched in hip-hop. The only thing he's lost are the stereotypes that the world puts on 'rappers' for how far they can make it within the art community. He's a world renowned musician now, with a legendary career behind him. It's scary to even think that he has yet to find the peak of his career. Like the late/great Lou Reed said, "[Yeezus] contains moments of supreme beauty and greatness...He's pushing music further than anyone. Nobody is even close to him right now". R.I.P.
@funkagenocide11 жыл бұрын
brandon Russell Yeezus was Kanye's most artistically adventurous album to date, I don't understand how people can listen to an artist put out the same thing for decades. Kanye is such a force in modern music and art simply because he doesn't rest on his laurels, he is continually pushing the envelope on what is "good" and what is acceptable. He spells it out in the first line on the first track of Yeezus, he's leaving his fan base behind in the hopes that they will catch up, he's not going to sit around kicking out "Gold Digger Version 5.0" and cashing in on an endless paycheck. He's not 2 Chainz for goodness sake.
