Vultures 1 definitely isnt horrible. But it’s easily the least innovative and least passionate album in Kanye’s discography. I really would say I only enjoy half of this album. It can feel very awkward and distasteful. And the performances and production can be absolutely awful at times. Edit: nvm bro vultures 2 is even worse ☠️☠️☠️

To me, I feel this was the most “yes man” Kanye album, when everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, says yes to everything you say on the sound, the lyrics, the message, it’s basically allowing the sins, the vices, the demons to dictate what goes in the music, than Kanye himself. My personal opinion when it comes to creating any project (not just a Kanye album) you need to have 1 no man out of 4 men. So if there are 3 guys that say yes and/or positive criticism constantly, you need to have 1 no man to go beyond expectations with.

The ironic thing is "vultures" means the yes men who leech off him. That is the idea behind the album name. "don't have no rapper friends, I hang with the vultures". The whole album was detailing Ye's life after he got cancelled. This may be crazy to say or just cope but I feel like the album was intended to be that way to send that message.

What infuriates me the most about this album is how he picked out the WORST songs he worked on during this whole era The more leaks that come out and songs he previewed before the release/ volume 2 previews all sound better than 90% of vultures 1 it’s crazy to me how he somehow just chose the worst songs from this era to release, like genuinely a few days ago a song called “city underground” got a 10 second leak And it sounded PHENOMENAL, it was like “sky city” 2.0, yk the most wanted song from yandhi? Vultures feels like a mix of MBDTF‘s feelings of arrogance and comeback motives mixed with Yeezus‘s sexualization and „I do whatever the f I want“ sound. That makes me believe that in some time people will go back to it and go „hey, that wasn’t so bad after all“. But with that said I really hope Vultures 2 learns from its predecessors mistakes and becomes an absolute banger.
