A big part of flat earth theory is just not believing everything you are told, which I fully believe everyone should do, you need to research things and backup your research with multiple sources. Don't just believe everything you're told. We don't really know if we can trust government agencies, NASA has been known to doctor photos and has some relatively shady things in its history. Where this goes wrong is people take it too far and won't believe any sources claiming that earth is an oblique spheroid, and stay as flat earthers forever, despite this being something you can prove yourself, at home, with math and logic. I suspect IQ plays a role. I believe in space travel, I believe we went to the moon, so I'm not some big conspiracy theorist but always be skeptical.

If you’ve ever spent time with someone who is in a manic episode, you’ll recognize some of Terrence’s actions. Thinking they are genius while spouting nonsense, thinking they are the only ones who see the truth that the rest of us can’t see, and saying they are the only ones who can save the universe are some of the common delusions people experience. Working 17 hours a day on a project that goes no where and barely sleeping also makes things worse. I wouldn’t be surprised if he also takes the route of saying he is the next saviour. Let’s hope that he gets the help he needs.
@melaniephillips42385 ай бұрын
As a former psychiatric nurse, I agree it certainly looks like mania. And the danger of untreated mania is that the person can begin to develop psychotic symptoms, just like you're pointing out -- delusional thinking and grandiosity, both of which seem to be on display in these videos. I wonder if the people around him who might have some influence with him, to get him psychiatric treatment, are as snowed by his conviction of "genius" as the people Kahmal mentioned.

Math and physics cranks can very often have legitimate patents, but of course these are always completely unrelated to the nonsense they are trying to prove. Underwood Dudley was a mathematician who wrote a book on people like Terrence, i.e., cranks. Lots of them are middle aged men with successful careers, sometimes related tangentially to math and physics, sometimes not. They typically have no formal education relating to their ridiculous claims, and refuse to admit they are wrong when obvious errors are pointed out to them by professionals. It's actually a very interesting social/psychological phenomenon.

Terrence Howard’s claim that “1×1=2” is based on a misunderstanding of how addition and multiplication function. In mathematics: 1. Addition combines actions: action + action = reaction. For example, performing one action and then another results in two actions, a straightforward sum. 2. Multiplication, however, does not combine actions directly. Instead, it represents a grouping or scaling concept: action × group = total actions. The second number (the multiplier) is not an action itself but describes how many times the first action is grouped or repeated. For example, 1×3 means "one action performed in three groups," resulting in three actions. Howard’s interpretation conflates addition (combining actions) with multiplication (grouping or scaling actions). This leads to the incorrect assertion that multiplying one action by another yields more than the initial action, which is not how multiplication operates. Multiplication abstracts grouping or scaling-it doesn’t inherently add to the initial value. Therefore, his mathematical foundation is flawed and anything using this math is also flawed. I'll see people say crazy stuff all the time, and it always makes me wonder if someone could just sympathize, and clearly, but most importantly simply, communicate and debate high level ideas to these people, would it change anything?

If you went back in time and met a monster when they were a child, could you hold them accountable for the actions they haven't yet taken? Or would you try your best to teach them better? @@SuperOmegaBerserker Sure, but that's a bit of a strawman's argument since no one is claiming that humans currently have a complete understanding of all the laws of the universe. It's common sense that we don't. The argument is that the foundational math principles that we've figured out so far aren't "wrong." Specifically, not wrong in the way Terrance Howard is professing. His example of incomplete and wrong was that "1 x 1 = 1" is incomplete because there isn't an equal number of 1s on both sides of the equation, and somehow that goes against nature.

Terrence Howard lost his Iron Man job because he got caught in a domestic violence dispute with what I believe is now his ex wife or ex girlfriend. It was proof that he punched her or something but yeah it was that not money.

Terrence thinks he is smarter than EVERYONE. So he has no peers. He thinks anyone who disagrees with him either doesn't understand the truth, or they're afraid to admit it. In his mind, he is a genius who upended the foundation of math and science, only none of the mathematicians and scientists understand.

His biggest math problem is confusing multiplication with addition. Multiplication does not add or increase values based upon a number, it says, "You've got this many of this number."
@bigshooter4615 ай бұрын
Multiplication quantifies the number of units, he has confused the Unit Value with Unit Quantity. 1x1 is 1 1 Dollar x 1 Dollar is another problem entirely that requires understanding of the desired expression to indicate resulting value.

@@bigshooter461Doesn't 1 dollar x 1 dollar equal 1 dollar^2?

@@vivianloney that is just another way of writing the equation, tell me what the value of the result is?
@MiddleAgedPlumber4 ай бұрын
@@bigshooter4611 dollar x 1 dollar is still just 1 dollar. 1 x 1 is saying you have 1 of 1. Introducing the dollar into, makes people want to ADD because obviously if you have 1 dollar and 1 dollar, they want to say 2 dollars. But that's not the equation, the equation is you have 1 dollar times 1 dollar, you still only have 1. You have 1, 1 time.
@alexbg92874 ай бұрын
@@MiddleAgedPlumber you can't write dollar x dollar because one of those numbers is supposed to represent how many dollars you have, in other words, if you write dollar x dollar in an equation, it's literally an unsolvable equation because it's fundamentally wrong

What I love is he claims his failed 3D tech patent is worth trillions because its 'Referenced in hundreds of patents by Sony, Apple ect.' What he fails to mention (other than the fact his application failed) is that its referenced in the parts of how they AREN'T using his designs, so if his patent was granted they wouldn't be infringing.

What you have is a piece of paper that only means the same to two or more people who agree on the value of that piece of paper! It’s a perspective and an agreement. Without the agreement, it’s just a piece of paper.

Doubt it because getting a masters degree in physics/math takes more than just time. It takes tons of effort and mental bandwidth and energy and sleepless nights and perseverance, and most importantly the ability to make a mistake, realize your error, and fix it. Terrence seems wholly incapable of this last feat and I doubt he would be willing to put much effort into the laborious and unglamorous process of slaving through hundreds if not thousands of textbook problems. Dudes just like every other crank, he wants all the glory and fame that comes with discovery but doesn't want to actually put in any effort because all that stuff is boring and rote and 'below him'

@@Onoesmahpie NAH.....Learning these days is easy because youre just repeating what others have already said and done. @@B..P.. Yeah it's so easy that Terrence refuses to go to school and study math even though he has the time and money to do so. Masters and PhD students write a thesis before they graduate, and do active research, so they are not just' doing what others have already done'.
