Holy shit, that Photon Current from Star-Lord was CLUTCH. These duels are some of the best I've ever seen. And this is coming from someone who has been in a few tournaments himself (and won a couple). And the times I won, usually just a bunch of booster packs from the most recent set, but if it was a tournament themed after a certain booster set, I won a play mat for that set. I actually have a Dimension Force mat I won from a Dimension Force tournament.

I like how this baited me using tropes from the anime. It starts by hyping up the Egyptian God card, and so it made me think whoever uses it is gonna win their round, because that's what usually happens in the anime where they hype up a deck before the duel even starts. So when I saw Kanye pull out the slimes, I inherently thought "Oh shit, it's Kanye. He's gonna win." But then I saw Star Lord had a face down left and wondered if he had a comeback up his sleeve, and he did. While Photon/Galaxy Eyes can be annoying to play against at times, I still like the archetype, so I'm happy Star Lord won.

Honestly realistically, Star lord currently the smartest Duelist right now sense he has more experience than everyone in the tournaments against big odds due to being a long time comic book character and this match probably four hints a DC character could arrive as well in the tournament to.

My favorite thing about yugioh is how much expression it allows for one’s personality. if you can think of a type of person you can build a deck that they would potentially use. Of course most people in tournaments just go with whatever’s meta, but in casual play it’s fun to see what type of decks your friends build and how it reflects their personal interests and personality. That imo is what makes this series such a great concept
