@@mattburgett7367 Dolphin fan here.. Purdy and Tua are similar. Above average QBs that can run your team as long as things around them are good. Brock was one key block or one play away from winning a Super Bowl. Neither QB will ever be a top 5 type…. Top 10? Sure… I like Tua but paying him 50 million is tough on the overall roster. Good Luck with Purdy’s contract.

Many years ago I watched Fran Tarkenton play for NYGs. He was called Scramblin' Fran when he was in NYC. He never had a great year. The NYGs never had a great O-line while Fran was there. Then he got traded to the Minnesota Vikings. He became an All-Pro immediately. The Vikings had a good O-line. The 49ers need a good O-line. Brock Purdy needs a team with a good O-Line. Badmouthing him for the 49ers miscues this year is a mistake. Brock Purdy will likely learn to be better over time. If the 49ers (or another team) provide him with a good O-Line (and reasonably good receivers), then Brock Purdy should play well. He should improve. I personally would like to see him remain a 49er. I will leave the dollars and cents negotiations to John Lynch et al.

This team The 49ers needed to rebuild from the Center out for years. Purdy cannot have any confidence in that line. Who in professional sports can succeed if you are expected to throw after getting hit and tackled. This protection does not exist. Funny thing is the 49ers known for being a running team who dominated the clock and wearing out defenses no longer exist. I missed seeing the team others feared playing blasting defenses off the line of scrimmage all night. A team that can run a sweep that looked like a red and gold wave. That type of line can give confidence from the whole team and fans. Because we know the run sets up the pass. Brock is not the whole of the offense. Playing with sometimes 8 player on offense? And all of the unnecessary penalties? Let’s get a full team first
