Cozier talking about bookmakers in Bombay and the money riding on these matches, right when Azhar was in frame, what co-incidence!!!

Not a coincidence at all....more like a pointed comment.

@@echochamber8350 : I very much doubt whether anyone really associated Azhar with skullduggery back in 1991-92. From memory, it was only in the late 90s that the whispers grew louder

Desmond Haynes - a lesser known great!

Big strong guy who is sometimes undermined by bigger names of the time. More aggressive than Greenidge sometimes but really versatile. Composed in his mind and always watchful preferring to let Greenidge do the hammering. But when he decided to go all out he could be wild.
@subhodipbanerjee66992 ай бұрын
During his time, Haynes was the best opener, snd he averaged 40+, even during the late 80's.

India played pathetically during the whole tour of Australia in 1992. Lost 4-0 in 5 test series, also lost almost all ODIs against Australia. In this tri series of India, Australia and WI, India managed to reach the finals just bcz WI was the worst team amongst these 3. Further, India played even bad in the World Cup and couldn't manage to reach semis. The only achievement of India during that whole season was to beat Pakistan in the World Cup 😂😂

Australia let India one match win deliberately to avoid Windies in final. It's Aussie old tricks. Recently in 2012 they lose deliberately to SL so as to oust India. Even in T20 World Cup that same year Aussie played badly vs Pak to again oust India.

Observe how neither the bowler nor the wicket keeper bother to appeal frivolously everytime the ball beats the bat and finds the pad. They knew pretty well that the ball would be missing the stumps and that their appeal would be turned down. Now a days, every time the ball finds a pad, the bowlers, wc and slip cauldron appeal vociferously whatever be the trajectory of the ball, then the umpire's decision will again be reviewed by the bowling team. So much wastage of energy. More cricket for sure but less cricketing sense.
