poor kara. she was scoring over a full point higher on beam a year ago, but that 2019 beam inquiry fiasco really shook her confidence as well as the judges' confidence in her ability to be a world-class beam worker. i mean jordan chiles is consistently outscoring her on beam lmao

That was spectacular. Oh my god. Her foot completely slipped but she got the 2.5 around perfectly. She hasn't had a great beam routine in so long and she deserves it

She missed her first combo, but her other combos were quite on! Very few 0.1 balance checks. HOW did they get down to a 6.0 DV? Her ring jumps were creditable, even her switch ring was better than usual. Way underscored in my opinion.

The KZbin description gives her a 6.8 D-score, but if she got that, she’d have a 15.1. Not correct.

Troubling that she only got a 6.0 D score for this. I got a 6.2 being pretty harsh. I wonder if a ring got downgraded again. Low 14’s is not beam specialist territory unfortunately. Grace got the same though IMO that was a gift.

It’s so terrible she got COVID right before the olympics I can’t imagine how she feels I hope she recovers quickly and still realizes how amazing she is for being able to even get to go to Tokyo to begin with! Even though she won’t be able to compete she still rocks ! 💕

the judges r DONE accepting those rings. i don’t see how they could be any clearer with al fong and armine that kara will not be going to tokyo unless that beam routine is changed because at the moment she’s an unnecessary risk

Wow, that's a big hit for her! She owned the beam. The rings look a lot better... although is it just me or could she point her back foot more? The flexed foot is a distraction from her otherwise clean ring positions.

@@anikokoren3417 tbf, I think the judges went really hard on her here since her rings got a LOT better and I think she may have taken one out. I feel like she would have a much higher score if she did elements that she was a lot more consistent on that could still get her the points she needs. Rings just aren't consistent enough for her even though she still does them beautifully(yes even if she's not hitting them perfectly). The Chinese beam workers are unstoppable when they hit though but I think Kara still has potential
