If you're reading this Sonam. You're an awesome guide, I can only hope to trek with you again!) And I'm now debating to go in 2025 to EBC and then island peak, wich will be my first time over 6000m (or anything above 5550m at Kala Patthar ;))

I said this in your other video, but pointing the stuff out is very helpful. Thanks. It looks like it's a skill to get it right...kinda like the TV weatherman in front of a green screen looking sideways and pointing. You have to get the "finger" in the correct position from the camera lenses perspective.

Nice vlog you guys. In October 2017 I made my way to Tibet and Mt Everest base from China., after been inspired by the movie Seven Years in Tibet. When I stared work, I tried saving as much to fulfill my dreams and Mt Everest was the top on my list. I’ve seen many documentaries and some vlogs before making my decision to finally go for it. Obviously when asked my coworker and friends to join me on this journey, they refused do to it’s price, so I headed solo. Boy once I reached in front of it , I cried so hard that my tears could not make its way out nearly chocking me at ones. The amazing sunset lighting up the whole valley and the Everest itself, it was simply breath taking. Spend that night at the Everest camp freezing my butt of! It was worth.every penny I spent and for a million $ I’ll do it twice more.

In 1982, I took the bus from Kathmandu to Lamasungu (the road to Jiri wasn't completed yet) and hiked all the way to Kala Pattar. Like the entire trek, the "trail" from Lobuche to KP was unmarked. No Tea Houses along the trail at that time., only stayed with families. Very primitive and cold. Only food was "Dal Baht". Hadn't experienced much altitude sickness the whole way, but it hit me hard like a ton of bricks half way he KL path. Hardest thing I have ever done. Just 3 of us on the trail, mid February. Flew out of Lukla back to Kathmandu. Lukla air strip was unpaved mud Yak pasture.

CampingCarJoa you do realize that people still die trying to climb Everest!! Just a couple years ago an ice field sheared off Everest and killed about 20 people!! Base camp is one thing, actually climbing the mountain should be left to professionals!!
@dianeelaine6 жыл бұрын
If you are with a reputable group trying to summit, you have to prove to them that you can do it by climbing other mountains first and by being the most physically fit you have ever been in your life. It’s their reputation for their business, plus the sherpas are risking their lives for you so you can’t be just someone who thinks they can throw the trip together to do it! It takes a ton of planning. That’s why you go with a group that has a high success rate of summiting and that they have no deaths.
@chauvinflorent82456 жыл бұрын
Everest must left to professionnals . Climbing is dangerous. Many people died every year in the lack of training before climbing

When I was in my microbiology course, we were discussing where our oxygen is produced. The oceans contain tiny microorganisms called Diatoms. Our oxygen does not come from vegetation like we are taught in school. A small fraction does. The biggest risk to our climate change crisis is the loss of these Diatoms. The entire planets population will feel the effects of hypoxia or oxygen starvation. You were feeling the initial stages of hypoxia. Oxygen starvation is very insidious. Can't catch your breath. Whole body systems begin to shut down. The brain needs a lot of oxygen. As it progresses, unconsciousness sets in. Then the heart and lungs are over taxed. They eventually shutdown and then it is all over. They leave you up there because you are too heavy. Your body is preserved due to the cold. All of this is occurring at sea level. The oceans are a very sensitive eco system. Slight variations in the oceans currents and thus ocean temperatures added to acidification could bring extinction to these tiny life giving creatures. The shurpas should have brought you to see some of the bodies still at their final place of rest.
