I lived with my Grandmo and Papa off and on for most of my child hood. When who ever came to pick us up from our mother would cross the Oklahoma line I could smell Oklahoma. I don't know to this day at 73 years old what it was but Oklahoma has the freshest, cleanest and safest feeling and smells in the entire USA. My husband took us all home to Oklahoma one time (not his home but mine). I was sleeping soundly and we crossed the state line. I sat up and told him "we are in Oklahoma now". When we got to my Grandmo and Papa's house Grandmo asked him if I knew when we crossed the state line. He was shocked but said yes, she knew and told me where we were. Grandmo smiled and said "she has always known when we crossed into Oklahoma. I will always love Oklahoma.

Had to pause the video when I saw the 66 Bowl sign. That bowling alley used to be only 8 blocks away from my house growing up in OKC. I always wondered what happened this classic sign. It was so cool at night with its neon lights and each neon bordered black circle would flash on and off in a staggered pattern so it looked like it was rolling toward the pins, which would light up when hit.

@dannysllrs2 жыл бұрын
I gotta back your comment up! My GF works for AT&T and talks to many people from all around the country and the world sometimes. That's what she's always asked tho. If she has to ride a horse to work still and how do we just get around on our horses and not buy a car or truck lol! Apparently they think we have Indian Tribes just out in the boonies that still use bow and arrow, and you gotta be careful traveling. I don't think it's crazy these days if you watch people asking actual college kids questions about our country and history. I know 5th graders who can't count money right now and didn't know the difference between a dime and quarter it's sad they can barely spell and speak to their phones to do what they need! I will say one thing tho I love our Governor and our state. We've managed to stay quite free compared to other states. We don't have to ask the govt permission and pay them to carry a pistol to protect ourselves and our families. I feel that shows the difference between which states would try and control their citizens and which ones give power back to The People and aren't afraid of their own citizens fighting them for their freedom cuz they wouldn't try to take it in the first place! Such a secretly great state to live in!

Just north of you in the salt plains is Wakita with a fun little museum that shows the town how it was very much changed due to the movie "Twister" Maybe the dirt road that Google took you by is where the actual center of where maps use as a center!

So happy you came through my home town! I’m a character performer at The Gathering Place, and looks like you came by the day I was out as Spider-Man! I wish Spidey could’ve met you all, he would’ve been very happy. Safe travels, ya’ll!

I live here in Yukon, Oklahoma! Best state in the 50 I feel! Wish I had known about these vans back a few years while in the Oil Field when I pointlessly spent money. I bought a fix me up camper that never was done and these vans would of been way better to stick in my parents fields at night with my dog!

Omg I love that root beer. It’s kinda like the butter beer you get in the Harry Potter section of universal studio

In Oklahoma that’s called the “Oklahoma Standard” we have some pretty messed up stuff that happens here but, we are willing to help a stranger most of the time.

Lived in Oklahoma forty two years and proud of it. Next time y'all go through there, start down south in Beavers Bend and go north towards Heavener to Lake Tenkiller. Head north and go through Tahlequah on hwy10 and then east towards Dripping Springs and stop by Natural Falls. Livin there all my life, east/southeast has always been my favorite. Y'all have safe travels!

I know this video was from 2 years ago, but as a born and raised Okie, of you come back to Oklahoma. Stop by a small town called Catoosa, just Northeast of Tulsa. Route 66 runs through it and visit the Blue Whale. The story behind it is so amazing!

I'm so sad!! They missed some of the best parts of Oklahoma. Could've gone sailing on Lake Hefner or gone to the restaurant Vast downtown to overlook all of OKC. Hopefully they'll come back.
