What kind of Emerson karambit is he using? It appears to be an Emerson combat karambit, but it appears that he can open it without the thumb while still holding it in reverse grip. Does his version have a flipper on it?
@zenviking66918 жыл бұрын
I like that you incorporate running away into the technique. The need to run away is a reality that needs to be faced.
@acaciabinervata60847 жыл бұрын
Exactly, there could be a whole gang of opponents behind the lead attacker.
@lincolnpascual7 жыл бұрын
I agree. The one man army concept is bullshit. I've trained in many different systems... they all fall apart the moment you introduce multiple attackers. Krav maga, jeet kune do, systema... they all have solutions for multiple attackers. The solution is the same: create distance between yourself and the group (usually by using one opponent as a shield), and get the fuck out. Live to fight another day right? Personally, if you have the means, I say go full Punisher on their asses. Spray and pray. Gun fu is very effective. (That last part was a joke. I'm not advocating for Punisher style tactics)

I like that he gives non-lethal options. You can tell he has actually had to use these techniques in real life unlike some of these other "instructors" who watch too many zombie movies.

Exactly... when he says because i don't want to do this, showing a rear neck slicing... i bet you don't. Neitheir do i. His respect for violence shows his level. the most you know about chaos and violence, the less you are likely to want it anywhere near you.

Why does this guy not have a KZbin or someone as a guest more often. Great teacher even with broken English. Very relaxing and makes it feel personal.
@jaredgreathouse36725 жыл бұрын
I like how he gets to the philosophy behind fighting and self defense. He repeatedly gives non lethal options. This is why he speaks of showing the knife if someone shows theirs first, using the blade only when the other person gets theirs and so on

Once you get past the fact that this is used to butcher another human being, the technique is extremely fluid and elegant. I had to chuckle when he preformed a combination that ended with a throat slash and said "You don't want to do this."

Viva Indondesia... Cause Kerambit is a small curved knife used by warriors in Minangkabau, West Sumatra. and spread throughout Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. Western countries call this knife karambit, while in Minangkabau it is called kurambiak/karambiak.

With all due respect I don't agree with full index finger position. Thickness of fingers can affect maneuverable ability. His choice, and very nice moves.
@lincolnpascual7 жыл бұрын
Windsor Kid that's fine. When you end up breaking your finger cause the blade encounters resistance and isn't deep and secure in your grip, you'll change your mind real fast. And yes, it happens... that's why it's mentioned.
