I love kids and I work with them but I'm not having any because I know I'm not healed from not feeling loved by my mother. I refuse to continue any generational curses and if I have to sacrifice to ensure that then so be it. I care for other people's kids for 8 hours cause that's all I can handle. As a Sexual Abuse/Physical Abuse Survivor I often acted out in my late teens/twenties & turned to sex/alcohol to dope & mask whatever pain I was feeling. Pain changes ppl but it’s our responsibility to HEAL!! Childhood trauma forever changes the trajectory of your life . I'm sorry you went through that abuse. I'm glad that you're on the path to healing now and I hope that Shalah and others who've experienced the same pain see your comment and receive it. What we don't talk about as a community is how certain aspects of our entertainment industry encourage young women to engage in hypersexual behavior. Unfortunately, it's easier for victims of abuse to go this route because they think embracing hypersexuality is taking control over the situation and that's not always the case. Sometimes victims embrace sex because they get accused of being "fast" and get blamed for what happened to them. This is why we have to be mindful of what we say with our tongues especially to our babies. Telling a child that they're "fast" only gives them two options to either prove you wrong or prove you right. Don't afflict these children with that kind of mental turmoil, especially not when the greater society is pushing that sex is liberation. They will fall prey. Nevertheless, if you are a victim of sexual abuse, please get therapy and remember to not live your life based on what other people think of you. Forget them. Do what is healing, healthy, and best for you--the true inner you who wants to be restored and protected.

This is what happens when people are damaged and not repaired. It is important to address and heal from your past. It will follow you into your future and affect those around you. Mom was never taught parenting skills and in turn passed on some of what she endured unintentionally perhaps. Glad her daughter is determined to confront it and praying for healing for both of them. As a previous victim of severe child abuse,torment,torture, and multiple sexual assaults,I would never be sitting on TV telling my horrific story e we it’s a BIG ASS SMILE on my face because any kind of abuse is not funny so the daughter to me seems like she’s exaggerating some details. Now in ALOT of different communities families use physical punishments like whoopings with belts or standing in the corner for an hour,or even using electrical cords or hands,etc to discipline unruly children. Now as adults we look back and say to our cousins or friends “remember when grandma used to get the switch off the tree to whoop us” or “remember this n that happened” n that is followed up with “it did have a positive outcome on my life,etc or it helped shape us into who we are as adults later in life… I feel a little manipulation coming from the daughter also.

I'm glad she's talking about her abuse. I was abused by my cousin. She would beat me over it every little thing, and I was just a child, and now that i'm talking about it more and i'm calling it abuse.Nobody seems to believe me, or tells me to get over it but I know what it was. CONTINUE TO SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF.

Bless this baby girl, she so strong and full of light to sit there and not be hateful towards her Mother. May God continue to strengthen her and give her the understanding that she did not deserve to be treated like that and to never allow anyone to treat her in a way that would cause this kind of pain. One time is to many....God touch her mother and give her understanding as well.

This is the most mature 19 year old I’ve seen in this generation. I love karamo not only do people need him but the black community needs him. It’s so sad to say but these are issues we don’t address. In our world you don’t speak about your emotions and you don’t hold your parents accountable. But that has to change to stop generational curses 🫶🏾 karamo really is god sent to the world to save this generation ❤️

Shayla really is inspiring like Karamo says, I feel like we have similar experiences in how we have chosen to respond to the life we were given. I’m around the same age too and it really is inspiring to see her hold herself up so high still after all she’s been through and I want to say thank you for the message at the end because it’s hard to have confidence in yourself when you’re by yourself and weighing out what you think you can do while you have so much to carry but to hear it from her is affirming. I’m trying to do the math too much instead of just keep trying and really go for it you know. Thank you Karamo and Shayla, it really is good to see that solution and coming through is possible

This was the most emotional episode of all 😭💔,the mother inner child is still traumatized of everything she went through...but still not a excuse of what she makes her daughter endure,a Mother is the main element in our life journey,that's why healing is so important,no child should go through this, despite that's this young women grow to be outstandingly greater& beautiful,what a inspiration, keep being you and wishing you nothing but unconditional Love, Healing, Strength...Stay Blessed. 🙏🏼🤗💖
