That happened with me and 1 of my siblings. My mom/dad married for 26 years and had 9 kids. He remarried to the last woman he had an affair on my mom with and they had another kid which I have a great relationship with. We were on our way to a function and she asked me something about our Dad that she seemed to have no knowledge and I think it crashed her world because she saw our Dad as this person that was almost perfect and would do anything for her. I must admit a part of me enjoyed sharing the news with her and seeing her seeing him for what he was truly was. It was almost like a vindication on my part because he pretty much abandoned us after he and my mom divorced and I saw was my struggle to make ends meet while he provided for someone else's family. Dad blocked him for a reason. He knew of his son and didn’t want to upset his family. He thought it was buried in the past. What’s done in the dark potentially comes to light. This young man deserved to know who his father is. Children are always innocent in these situations and other siblings shouldn’t make the decision to say he is or isn’t their brother. They weren’t there. It’s sad when you have a perception of someone and you find out things otherwise. It can be heartbreaking but you can’t be bitter about decisions others made in their past, especially when it didn’t affect you in any way, form or fashion. This was a bubble burster for the sister that was the least accepting. Not to mention that he looks more like her than the other who was more accepting. Pray in time, they grow as a family.

The situation is so sad. I had twins at 16. A Boy & a Girl. My son was still born my daughter is going well she has 5 children & 2 grandchildren. I always wanted to know her Father's side of the family but she was rejected because his family was poor and my mother paid them off. My ex Sherman we loved each other but we were 16& 17. My mother took advantage of my existence familes finances and my mother paid them not to be in my daughter's life. I have reached out but it went mo where they know that is their neice. The father just goes around making kids but never got to know our daughter.It's been over 40 years and it still hurts. People don't understand and think time should erase everything. My daughter had a good life but I wanted her real dad to do something.I told my daughter when she was old enough to understand where she came from and is loved although the Boone family never stepped up. It kills me for her to sit there and try to protect her dad. Its so many people in our age group that are struggling with this issue. I know because I am one of them. I have never met my dad and sadly I dont know if he is dead or alive. I dont have any knowledge of the possible siblings or family members that I have on his side. This definitely weighed on me heavy when my mom passed in 2019. It takes alot to get to the point where you feel brave enough to locate a parent that never attempted to get to know you or to consider your very existence. It is not easy and yes years go by as you try to gain the courage to make that step expecially when you have to take in to account the possibility of having to face even more rejection. I resented my mom for a long time because I felt as though she didnt fight hard enough for me to have a relationship with my dad. I have forgiven her, but I had to move on and accept it because I have fostered an attitude of not caring, although deep down inside of me I really do. The least she could do is support the situation and just because you dont know dont sit there and act like your parents and family members told you everything when we come from a generation of people that kept secrets no matter how much damage it may have caused someone else including a child. I salute his bravery because I know from my own story this is something that never goes away and it lives in the back of your mind when there are no answers.

This is so surreal …. This is my same situation…. My father knew about me but denied me… I knew about his other children , but they didn’t know about me. My half brother never spoke to me not even at our fathers funeral. He did reach out to me at 30 and it was because the ancestry site confirmed the dna. Siblings should blame each other, the fault lies with the parent.

My Dad is now gone. He and my Mom was married for 26 years with 10 kids. Upon their divorce and I was rather young when he remarried and had another child. My Dad pretty much created an entire new life but somehow etched us out. He still interacted with us whenever there was a crisis but other than that there was no meaningful relationship. He was really good to kids. Everyone else's kids but not us. My one sister does not even acknowledge my other sister's existence at all. She does not speak to her and never has said hello to her at all. May there be a special place in hell for him and he burn forever. I'm not bitter at all. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The difference is yk it wasn’t like I grew up w my dad in the home, yk he was in the streets, so if that was her case and she was under the impression he was only supposed to be w her mom fair. But also, I’ve gone thru a lot w both my mom & dad. I love them both dearly & understand why they’ve made the decisions they have, but I also can hold them accountable bc im mentally and emotionally strong enough I suppose and mentally and emotionally intelligent. So in situations I always know it’s 3 sides, your side, their side and the truth, meaning the way it actually went down. Sorry for the long explanation, I do tht by accident sometimes, esp when I’m passionate lol

I felt this!!!!! I literally met my biological father and I’m 33yrs old and I went thru the AncestryDNA kit. My dad was so happy and I’m his oldest and my moms 5th oldest. His wife wasn’t too found of me🤷🏽‍♀️ she lowkey still wants us to take the test but my dad doesn’t want it. I’m so proud of him getting his results🥰

I cried this whole episode as I could relate however my Dad owned the fact their was a possibility. We took the test and after 31 years I have that missing piece My Dad, 6 siblings a host of nieces & nephews & bonus mom. Embrace all those feelings and continue to BE patient with yourself was best advice given! Thank you for this

I felt this one. I cried for him. It's tough knowing the truth and the man that is really your father blocked you to satisfy himself with his family is absurd. Thanks to the sister that said she had already told the other sister whom didn't want to accept him that he was their brother. Their father's son. I pray that they gain a close relationship with brother and all grow to love him and he love them. This young man has his head own straight and is a very smart, intelligent, and educated working man. I take my hat off to him and his mother whom could have went after his dad years ago. And she didn't. Sorry, I would have, to make sure my son was legitimate to his rights just as those daughters were. But God made this a new beginning for the 3 of them. Love this❤❤new beginning.
