I love GSP. He is literally in my top 5 favorite MMA competitors, but he had NEVER annoyed me and frustrated me the way he did commentating in this fight. He could not contain his biases for Raymond Daniels . I know it's his friend, but as a commentator , his job is to not only speak on the fight but do it in a neutral perspective. That's what I observed at least. P.S. definitely new fan of Rafael. Loved this little man's heart and skill

This was a good fight, dude had a great game plan, and Raymond kept keeping his head on the centerline. He played right into his game plan. Instead of creating distance, he tried to close it, which works better against shorter opponents. Hopefully he comes back and learn from this and gets better, this is really good to watch. Shorter people have better center of gravity, and when they come in close that usually works to their advantage.

Raphaël has a clear dominance in this match. He uses what works in mma, grappling, head mouvements, I can even see sometimes some advanced footwork movements from boxing. He uses a lot more combinations than his oponent who is using single strikes and is thus easily dodged and countered. Really impressive.

This is an incredible fight, a joy to watch Aghayev is already a pretty good leg catcher, and he managed to do it more against Daniels. Looks like it’s Aghaye’s camp’s main strategy. Nevertheless, I’m very impressed how Danilels almost always managed to prevent Aghayev from blitzing him (only one or two strikes landed) despite his leg still being caught. Respect to both karatekas.

I recently joined American Bushido Kai Karate which is a mixture of Shotokan, Kyokushin, and Goju Ryu. Their kumite is VERY different but surprisingly close to these rules: although ABKA allows groin kicks. I like that the fighters are confused about the rules because so many MMA groups follow UFC rules and most fighters train Brazilian jujitsu which is far from Okinawan Karate. Olympic style kumite has always seemed like aggressive tag. Karate Combat is my new favorite thing to watch!

Both guys are absolutely legendary fighters and Big respect to both. Now with that being said, I believe Raymond Daniels fought him not the typical way that Raymond usually fights. Raymond should’ve played the counter game and this whole fight would have played out completely different, instead of trying to pressure the other fighter. It’s just my humble opinion.

Throws are allowed, clintch is allowed, catcher is that you are allowed only ONE attempt/tehnique. You go in, grab, clintch and try the throw. If you are countered you are not allowed to "wiggle" in the clinch until you got something out of it

@@nagyzoli all I can say is that I absolutely love traditional karate and it doesn't matter what style it is! Kenpo, kyokushin, Shotokan, Okinawan, ashihara, or enshin style sabaki method! This is an outstanding promotion and I love watching it! I have had my fill of mixed martial arts and all of its unprofessional tough guy drama that is absolute bull crap! I have always truly loved 2 particular Styles and that is karate and Judo and I think a competition for both of them mixed together would be fantastic but for now this is awesome! The camaraderie and respect and professionalism of karate and Judo is outstanding and this karate combat promotions makes me a gigantic fan!
